I am getting this error using an email aggregator.   The application is called Iqtell (www.iqtell.com) and I use it because it allows me to see all my different mail accounts in one place.  However, for my hotmail account I cannot send email.  It keeps giving me this error message.  All my other accounts work fine: yahoo, aol, exchange, gmail, and apple.  Its only hotmail that doesn't work.

"535 5.2.1 Login to your account via a web browser to verify your account."

I have tried to login as suggested by the error message and see if that verifies me but it doesn't.  Are you expecting me to login to the hotmail.com web page on the email aggregator servers?   That is impossible since I don't have access to them or own them.  They are a third party application.   I also contacted iqtell support and they said the servers are linux terminal servers with no gui.  So its impossible to reach the hotmail webpage from their servers.

Should I switch to using Gmail?  I have no problem with gmail and it supports IMAP.
Getting this error message trying to login in to account (via hotmail.com) at the moment. Is this serious?

It appears my email (live.com) account has been hacked..I have been trying to change my password, however, an error message continues to come up (see subject line above) and it will not allow the change of password.  HELP!

Have continually filled out the security form and reset link sent to alternate email on yahoo, but the prompt will not take my new password.

When I have entered a new email with the link and prompt, the error message is "there is a temporary problem with the service.  Please try again...
I successfully log into skydrive and click on my group: "ReadersPlus", and then i get the error message: "sorry, something went wrong. please try again or refresh the page"

I have cleared my cache/cookies and tried to access the group again, still no luck
Skydrive status: "Running normally"; "Account, Outlook, People, Calendar, Skydrive, Connected Services, Messenger, Family Safety" .... all running normally

...also just tried accessing it on my mobile device (samsung galaxy S3, using the internet browser that comes with the software that is installed right out of the box)... but i could not even find the 'groups' header anywhere

We have been using this group for at least 3 years now with no major hiccups like this. It appears that nobody has had access to it regardless of which account we use or which computer we use. One of our group members tried accessing the group and got this error message a few days ago, and today she logged on and the group (i.e. "ReadersPlus") did not show up underneath the "Groups" category... it looked like she was no longer part of the group, though no admin kicked her out. On my account I still see the group, but I get the error message.

this is essential for the operation of our organization, and we're in a bit of a time crunch so immediate help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Does MS have any working Outlook.com servers?  Help, I NEED to get back  to work and I totally rely on sending & receiving emails to get my job done.  My internet connection is fine.  The ONLY website I am having problems with is outlook.com and when I try to login I get the following error message:

I tried to change my primary alias from my old hotmail.com alias to my outlook.com alias.  Once I did this I could not access any of my email.  I keep getting the error message "We're updating your inbox Please wait a few minutes and then try again."   I have been waiting HOURS!!!

I cannot get to my email from any of my devices - 2 laptops, 1 iPhone, 1 Kindle Fire.  I have cleared the cache on each of my laptops -- still does not work.  I have tried accessing my email from IE10, Google Chrome and Firefox -- still does not work!

Then I changed my primary alias back to my hotmail.com email address -- still will not work -- keep getting the same error message.  Cleared the cache again,  tried with other devices and other browsers -- still no luck!

I never had these kinds of problems when I used gmail as my primary email.  I changed back to MS because I could get an email address at outlook.com that was better suited to my business.  I have had repeated problems with hotmail & outlook.

Clearly from the posts this is a very common problem -- you should provide a warning when someone tries to make this change!!!

I am a small business person -- I cannot afford to have a problem accessing my email -- I will lose clients!!!
