I loaded an Outlook account on 2 Macs in my office. They are the same account. I just want it to be setup to ask for a password every time I open my Outlook account. Is set up as an Exchange account. The way the account acts now is that when I open
the account it loads all my email information but doess not ask for my Password, it just opens up. This is not safe for me. I need to have the password entry method eery time I open Outlook for my account. Please help.
Thank you.
I must be missing something obvious here...
I have multiple email accounts set up on Outlook (1 exchange, and a couple of IMAP)
How do I view the calendars for each account? I can only see the calendar for my default Exchange account...
The 'My Calendars' window only shows my Exchange account calendar and 'On My Computer'
On my iPad etc I can select which calendars to view (and indeed on the OSX calendar app I can do this) but how can I do it on Outlook please??
Thanks
John
Hello,
I'm using my Exchange account to handle my events on Outlook for Mac 2011.
I can't figure out why some of my events turned onto white events : some of my categorized events turned into events with no colors at all.
I've purged caches (even the font cache), preferences files, desinstall/reinstall Office 2011.
Recreated and rebuilded identities.
But i can't turn back Outlook 2011 to a normal behaviour.
I need help, thank you.
P.S. : when i'm log into my Mac OS X Guest account, my Exchange events are allright.
Changing the busy state to free state then busy back again doesn't work.
I'm trying to add my Live.com (Outlook Web) account here to sync my Mail, Contacts and Calendar.
However, when adding an Exchange account with my details, Outlook chokes and I end up adding IMAP credentials.
Can this be done?

Hi
Whenever I try add my live.com account via exchange account in outlook 2011 I get:
'account can't be added. Outlook 2011 requires exchange server 2007 spi update rollup 4 or later'
I can access my live.com account over pop3 and IMAP with no problem.
Are free live.com accounts not supported by microsoft exchange servers (for outlook)?
Can anyone use their live.com accounts as an exchange account?
I have 2 accounts on my outlook; an exchange account and an IMAP (me.com)
all the emails coming in on my IMAP account have a timestamp that is exactly 9 hour ahead of the current time.
when viewing the sameIMAP emails with the Apple Mail app the timestamp is correct.
When i sent test e-mails from my exchange account to my IMAP, the outgoing exchange account shows the correct time while the incoming IMAP reads a time 9 hours into the future???
I have read the previous posts, and already deleted the IMAP, shut down Outlook, restarted the computer, and recreated my me.com account but the problem persists.
any suggestions??
I recently set up an outlook.com email address as an Exchange account and it seems to be wreaking havoc with the mailserver here at work. How can I/what is the best way to now change this Hotmail exchange server email account from Exchange to simply
Outlook.com (IMAP?) Thanks much in advance! John
Recently set up an exchange account due to synchronisation problems with outlook and imac/iphone.
The exchange account in my mail settings registers a different name and different email to me but when I change it to the correct one it says the account already exists. I am trying to correct all mail settings to be able to achieve exchange as my default
across all outlook disciplines as my calendar is not synchronising correctly. Help!
I am running OS X 10.8.5 and Outlook 2011 for Mac version 14.3.7. Both are completely up to date according to the App Store and Microsoft Autoupdate. In recent weeks, every time I start Outlook after I boot/reboot the computer or even just log out and
log back in, the Outlook splash screen reports that it is "Setting up identity," which takes about 10 minutes. I have been Googling solutions and trying them for days, to no avail. After following every step in many "solutions," the problem persists after
every re-boot.
I expected the following would finally solve the problem, but it did not.
1. I deleted all Identities (all content) within /documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities.
2. In System Preferences, I deleted the two email accounts I use (an Exchange account and a Gmail account).
3. I ran "Repair Disk Permissions" within Disk Utility (both "normally" and after starting the computer in Recovery Mode.
4. After a fresh boot, I set up a new Identity called Main Identity in in Microsoft Database Utility and clicked "Rebuild."
5. I opened Outlook, which opened rapidly since there were no accounts,
6. Under Tools...Accounts...I successfully added my Exchange Account and then my Gmail account.
7. I let Outlook sync/download all content for all folders, watching the Progress window until absolutely everything downloaded. Everything seems to be in order. So long as I don't re-boot, Office opens fast and normally (no Setting up Identity delay).
8. I quit and shutdown and rebooted in Safe Mode.
9. I shift-opened Outlook to start it in it's "safe mode" which was quick and successful. I closed Outlook and shutdown.
10. I booted into Recovery Mode and ran the Repair Disk Permissions in the Disk Utility and ran Repair Disk for good measure. (No problems).
11. I rebooted normally, waited until everything "calmed down" and started Outlook normally.
But, it still took about 10 minutes to Set up identity again after all this!!
I am out of ideas and suggestions that I can find with Google. It can't be a corrupted Identity after all this, can it? Unless someone can offer a suggestion that works, my next two options that I can think of are to have my organization reinstall Office
and install all updates and if that doesn't work, the nuclear option of reinstalling OS X and starting from scratch all over.
Any help will be appreciated!
