Hello, I want to transfer from my laptop all my email to an external Hard Drive. I have tried to use outlook wizard and every time I select it after downloading to begin-my screen freezes-and I have to start over. Do I need to transfer my email to a external hard drive before  I replace the internal hard drive? If so, How do I do that?
I have Skydrive and the SkyDrive desktop app and all of my documents, music, photos and OneNote notebooks are being synced between my PC and SkyDrive.

I have more space available on my sky drive and I would like to back up some files I have on some hard drives attached to my PC.

Some of the files are video files or files that I have archived. But I do not want these files synced to my PC's hard drive, I don't have enough room.

I would like to store them in a folder on SkyDrive, but not sync them to my PC.

How can I do this? Can I make a folder on SkyDrive that will NOT be part of the folders that show up in my SkyDrive desktop app and end up as a synced file on my PC? Can I upload files from an external hard drive connected to my computer and not have it sync to my PC?

Thank you,
Tim Lorang
I had been cleaning up emails on Outlook 2011 for Mac as I had 5 years worth stored (20K+), primarily deleting old emails and moving some to draft folders. Before I did any of this I exported my outlook files (emails, contacts, calendar) as an .olm file to an external hard drive. I do this monthly anyways so I have a past back-up also. I launched Oultook 2 days ago and all the folders were empty and my account settings disappeared. I rebuilt the identity (holding option button down while selecting the Outlook icon)  and tried a few of the backed up identities and it still came up empty everytime (no emails in any folders) and no account settings. I reinstalled MS Office and updated the software and then rebuilt the identity from an external hard drive. Still nothing. Any suggestons? Thanks

Is it possible to transfer images from the photo gallery onto an external hard drive or a memory card/flash drive?

I backed up Outlook Express 6 to an external hard drive from my XP SP3 computer. Upgraded it to Windows 7 and installed Windows Live Mail. I've followed all the instructions to import storage folders from OE6 to Windows live mail. It appears to proceed and the imported folder is visible in the WLM storage folder.  There are now 2 of these but both report no items to view. (The backup folder on the external HDD has 19.5 MB saved folder plus the "FOLDERS.DBX") What is going wrong?
I'm trying to backup my WLM messages to an external drive. WLM program wants to backup to a folder, I want to backup to an external hard drive. Is it possible?
I had a live mail folder backed up on an external hard drive and the folder shows 20 emails; but after the import, there are only 14 showing. How do I get the other 6 to show? Note that the 6 "missing" emails are re: (i.e. reply) type of one of the showing 14 - only the last re: shows - even the original email in the chain isn't showing. Thanks for your help.
I have followed the procedure described for exporting Live Mail files from one PC to an external hard drive, with the goal of importing them into Live Mail on a new PC, but the export doesn't pick up any actual files, just a single heading, such as "Drafts". The only thing I could do this successfully with was the Contacts, which I did separately.

I have been using an external hard drive to save my outlook data file .PST in windows OS, so when I'm using another pc/ notebook I could just connect my external HD and follow up with my emails. I recently got a mac & wondering how I can do the same (moving between WINDOWS & MAC), I've been trying to but seems it can't as outlook in Mac has different extension .OLM

Please advise.

Thanks,

Ridwan
