I've set time restrictions etc on a childs account, and I know that is working, and I'm also getting App requests etc so believe everything is 'fine', but have just found them on facebook on their machine despite it showing as blocked in the permissions list.
What's going on here? I'm not overly confident in the system, now.
Windows 8.
I have clicked on the link from my weekly family safety report and all I get is a circle in the upper left corner and nothing loads for Overview, Activity Reporting or any of the other options on the left side. Web Filtering, Time Limits, App restrictions, Game restrictions and Requests all bring up the circle trying to load but it never loads.
The computer this is on is running Windows 7 Home Premium - 32bit
The computer I'm trying to see the report from the Family Safety Website is Windows 7 Enterprise - 64bit. I get the same results on Firefox, Chrome and IE10.

Using Family Safety 2011 on three Windows 7 32bit PC's.
2 teenagers have their accounts registered and everything seems to work reasonably well...
Addiction to Minecraft can be a problem for them and often gets in the way of school work. :)
In the past Family safety successfully reported the visits to minecraft.net under the Web Activity reporting screen.
Recently it is not reporting anything on minecraft.net at all - even though I know they are on the site every night.
Ticking "Show sites accessed by non browser apps" makes no difference.
I can still successfully block and unblock minecraft.net under Web Filtering but it just does not report anything at all in the Web activity report even though it used to.
minecraft.exe also does not show under the App or Games Restrictions or PC activity reports but I'm not too fussed about this as I believe the exe just launches the game in a browser so it can be managed under the Web Filtering and should show up in Web activity reports - but doesen't...
Really need to be able to report on minecraft.net activity so we have something to confront them with!
Any ideas???
Anthony.
I have given my children's accounts a 24x7 curfew with no time allowance set. Family Safety should block each of their logins and require a parent to approve the login however it does not, they are allowed in. This happens on our the Win8 tablet and computer and the Win8.1 Preview tablet.
I see this type of question is asked a lot in the forums, here are the answers to the questions normally asked when someone asks this same question:
- The computers were not upgraded from Win7, it was a fresh install of Win8 and Win8.1 preview.
- Me and my wife have admin accounts, the kids have standard accounts.
- We are using a custom domain for our Microsoft acccounts (e.g. it isn't hotmail.com or live.com or other domain).
- FS in Control Panel indicates it is being managed on the web site and NOT the local computer.
- I have downloaded the FSQuickTrace tool located at: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=5c653b944e4ba0ee&id=5C653B944E4BA0EE%213520.
- When I log into my account and choose Account Settings - Permissions - Kids' accounts, I see that only my son's account is associated with mine as a child's account.
- When I log into the Family Safety site at https://familysafety.microsoft.com/, it shows that both my son's and my daughter's accounts are kids accounts and shows me and my wife as parents.
I can run the FSQuickTrace to collect logs but would like to know how to do so with this particular problem. Since this problem occurrs during my kids' login, should I do the steps below to collect the logs?
1 - Log in as one of my children.
2 - Start FSQuickTrace.
3 - Lock the computer.
4 - Log back into the child's account.
5 - Send the .cab log file.

I have set up Family Safety on my laptop with Windows 7 for my under age son. When we try to get into his Outlook.com email, it gives us this message:
"It looks like your parent hasn't finished setting up the Family Safety settings for your account. Click "Go to Family Safety settings" to finish the process and get into your account."
The link it provides to continue set up gives us the following message:
"The page you have requested does not exist, has moved, or is temporarily down."
I have double checked his settings in Family Safety and everything looks in order. Any suggestions?
I have been seeing the post on the same subject line which have not been resolved and getting worried.
Have the similar problem. I have just bought new laptop with Windows 8. I have an admin account for me and standard accounts for the child.
The standard accounts say that family safety is activated but no info is being reported and when I look on the Family Safety website it says there has been no activity. When I try to alter filtering etc, through the family safety settings on the laptop, I get an error message saying, 'Sorry, unable to make changes to Family Safety.'
Need urgent help. The problem is very similar and same as i am seeing in this discussion. Has anyone in this group got it resolved to date.
