What is the maximum number of children accounts you can have in one Family Safety account for Windows 7?

YouTube has a safety mode that can be locked "on".  You cannot unlock it once you log out of the account.  This works as expected.

However, as soon as I activate Windows Live Family Safety, it causes YouTube safety mode to automatically unlock in all accounts.  This is obviously the opposite of what I want, as it defeats the purpose of both safety modes.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I'm using Windows 7 and IE10.

fss.live.com is redirecting to the infomercial page about how to setup family safety and how great it is:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/set-up-family-safety#set-up-family-safety=windows-7

But the actual family safety portal is gone, and I can also report that the status emails stopped containing anything useful a week or two ago.

Help! Thanks!

I recently added two Kid accounts via windowsphone.com after getting them Windows Phone 8 phones. The live accounts initially did not have the first and last name set (hastily created by a rep at the phone store), so I modified them to have first and last name set. However, when I go to the 'Microsoft Family Safety Settings' page from the 'My Family' section on the windowsphone.com site, these two 'Kids' have no names associated with them. They are blank, so you have "'s Windows Phone" for example. I modified the 'MS live' accounts two days ago, and on the windowsphone.com 'My Family' page, their names do appear.

I have not gone into the Family Safety configuration on my Windows 8 Desktop machine at all... After all, these are just phones. I'd have expected there to be a web mechanism to do all this.

Is this just a very slow data migration problem from the 'live' accounts to the Family Safety site? I cannot find a way to edit the 'Kid' names on the Family Safety website.

Thanks for any advice!

I recently purchased a new Dell Inspiron Laptop. The Family Safety web filter and monitoring does not work at all. I have been through multiple threads here regarding similar issues and have tried all the suggested solutions. None of them work at all. I have my child set to only access the allowed sites. I log in as him and I can access any site I want. I blocked a certain site, just to see if that would work, nope, I could still access it. When I look at his monitoring report all I see is that he viewed msn.com even though I used his account myself to access a variety of other sites. I have deleted him, made him a local account, connected him to a microsoft account, changed the settings locally, changed them on the family safety website, nothing matters. I am at the point where I think the whole thing is bologna. Someone, please, prove me wrong, cause I am desperate for a way to protect my child without keeping him living in the dark ages as he says, by not allowing him internet access at all.
it says that my family safety has not been finished? yet i have no parents associated with my account? so i dont understand what i need to do to be able to access my hotmail account. i then click the only link possible (to go to the family safety page) and it says the page you have requested does not exist, has been removed or temporarily down. what can i do?? i need it asap to change my password for something and i cannot even access my emails because the family safety  is stopping me from accessing anything.

Hi,

My child is not able to access his email due to family safety not complete error. I have removed family safety but the error persists.

Please assist.

Thanks

This morning I got a weekly activity report from Family Safety that said "no activities were found" for my son. This is obviously incorrect since he uses the computer and internet for several hours a day (online classes). The previous week, PC and Web activity were reported correctly.

To investigate, I logged into my son's account on the computer he's usually on, and tried a few web sites to see if FS was still filtering. No filtering was being applied. I checked the Family Safety settings for his account, and there were no apparent changes. FS was enabled, and the list of allowed sites appeared correct. I switched users and logged in as myself, checked the same FS settings. They were fine. I then switched back to my son's account. All of the sudden, a number of Family Safety notifications popped up. When I tried to visit the same sites I did a few minutes before, they were now blocked.

Please help me understand why the FS safety software utterly failed to protect my family this past week. I have seen many other posts noting similar behavior where FS inexplicably stops working for weeks or more.

Environment:
- Windows 8, child's user account is linked to his Microsoft account
- Family Safety is enabled for child's account
- Family Safety has time limits, web filtering, and app restrictions enabled for this child

I am having some other problems with Family Safety on a different computer running Windows 7, which may or may not be related.
- The Parental Controls does not show up-to-date settings. For example, the time limits are not the same as the ones defined on the FS web site.
- If I try to make any changes through the control panel, I get an error ("Unable to make changes to parental controls settings").

Hope you can help. :/

I am trying to set up windows family live on my pc.  I have windows 7 home edition.  Every time I get to the place where it asks me to match up the user accounts and so I do that.  After I hit save it says it is setting up and then gives me this error message: There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper.  The error code is 800706D9.  How do I fix this problem?  This is preventing me from being able to set up my family safety acct.
