I have windows 8.1 pro and my Skydrive folder is missing from my file explorer. I NEED that file because I use desktop mode the most on my desktop. Where did it go, again that file in the explorer is absolutely necessary for me to get work done. I need
my files to sync between all my computers, my schooling and job depends on that.
I've been on WIndows 8.1 for a little while (week or so since release). Today I noticed a Skydrive.old directory in the C:\Users\username directory. What is this? It seems to contain older versions of some files from the normal SkyDrive directory, but
I don't know why it chose the particular point in time or how it showed up all of a sudden. Why now and what is it? Seems like a waste of disc space and could cause confusion if someone saved files there.
Thanks for any insight!

Just installed Windows 8.1. Under Windows 8.0, I had a link to my SkyDrive under Favorites in File Explorer. That link is gone and I can't seem to get it back. Note that I am using a local log on to my computer--I do this because my Hotmail/SkyDrive password
is long and cryptic (and only I have it), more robust than I need for my family's routine access to the PC. Seems that the only way I can get to SkyDrive now is through Internet Explorer, which takes away the functionality of opening and closing files directly
through File Explorer. How can I get my SkyDrive link back to the way it was before?
I use the "skydrive" folder inside my "File Explorer" tab - I just realized that it is not syncing with my sky drive app, nor my other skydrive folder on my desktop: how do I make them all sync?
I have the skydrive app for windows 8 and the desktop downloaded skydrive in the file explorer. I can save documents to the file explorer skydrive and I can find it on the skydrive app but when I click on the desktop skydrive in the file explorer there
are none of my skydrive folders. Just a LOCK file. Should I have my skydrive folders here or is it just a way to save directly to skydrive not putting anything in folders?
Hi, I may be asking some very dumb question but I'm really confused.
I have a onenote note book, when I check its properties, it shows its location in my Sky Drive -> Documents.
However, when I open up my sky drive app on my start screen, Sky Drive says there was no file in Documents folder. All ther files are visible to the app though.
When I open up my file explorer on my computer and access my Sky Drive, the onenote note book shows up as a weblink in the document folder, and the size is around 1 KB. But when I go online and open up Sky Drive ->Document in a web browser, I can see the file and the space (50 MB) has already been taken up by the note book.
The notebook is synchronizing all the time and I have no problem using it.
So my question is, why is the notebook invisible in my Sky Drive App on start screen? Why does the file shows as a web link in my file explorer yet it has already taken up space in Sky Drive?
