Are the emails coming in ‘ACCOUNT RENEWAL (FINAL NOTICE)‏‏‏‏’ spam or are these from MSN?

Just received "Final notice" from Hotmail (1st notice for us) that our account is going to be deactivated. Is this spam or true?

Is anybody else out there receiving "Final Notice" regarding hotmail account. The Email asks for your account info including ? password, and ?birthdate to "verify account" "or it will be deactivated."

IS this LEGIT?

I received an email from * Email address is removed for privacy * saying that this is a final notice to update my accout due to DGTFX Virus.

Unless I provide my personal information to update my account, they say I am going to lose my hotmail account permenantly.

I do not know if this is really the msn hotmail sending this email to me.

Please advise if I need to respond with my personal info to update my account.
