i recently purchased a new computer with windows 8 ...prior to that i used my hotmail through connector to outlook and they mirrored each other correctly .

i set up outlook again on my new pc with connector and find that all my folders have dissapeared ...i cannot see them in outlook .com

any one know why this has happened and how to get them back (5 years of work !!!)

Why is the following folder being created in all of my Personal Data Folders - "the file so that changes to the file will be reflected in your item." over and over in a numerical sequence?  I can delete most of the folders except two, normally ending in 1 & 2.  However, the next time I long in Outlook more folder appear normally being numbered 1 to 8.
I have emails in folders stored by group. When I open the folders the emails are there but they won't open when I click on them. Please advise.

I made 2 folders under my inbox before msn was switched and now I cannot access them through my computer.  If I go through my phone, I can find the folders.  Please let me know what, if anything, I can do to bring them back up.


When I am preparing an email message, to which I plan to attach a file that is stored on my hard drive (in My Docs for example), I find that if go to or have previously gone to the FOLDER first (during the email session - but before attempting to attach the doc/file) to preview the file/doc, when I return to the email message and attempt to attach the doc/file, the FOLDER is no longer listed among the items in My Docs.  I can see other FOLDERS that are still listed in My Docs.  However, I also cannot find other FOLDERS which 'disappeared' when I've tried to attach docs from FOLDERS during various other emails that I've previously composed.  However, If / when I go out of email and go directly to my library and open My Docs, ALL of the FOLDERs are still listed.  But when I return to the email message and attempt to find the folder & attach docs, the folder is not listed !??  So therefore, because I cannot find the folder, I cannot access any docs/files within the folder.  

In order to get around this, I have to 1) come back out of Outlook, 2) go directly to my library & My Docs, 3) open the FOLDER, 3) copy and paste the doc/file that I want to attach, so that it is listed as a single file/doc (not contained within a FOLDER), 4) go back to the email and then access and attach the file/doc from My Docs.  I DID NOT EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THE RECENT HOTMAIL UPGRADE TO THE CURRENT OUTLOOK FORMAT.  I need help to understand why this is happening and where the folders are disappearing to and/or how do I access the folders directly through the Outlook attachment/insertion function.

The number of new mails which is shown next to 'Inbox' under the heading 'Folders' in Outlook.com gives the new number of mails only in the folder Inbox though I have two sub-folders under Inbox.

Even the top pane which appears when you click the down button next to the heading Outlook which has links to move to SkyDrive, People and Calendar and of course, Outlook.com shows wrong number of new mails under the link Outlook.com when i am in SkyDrive and People and Calendar.

How can i solve this problem?

I'm using Outlook on the kindle fire hd (got Outlook from the kindle app site). Works great except that the Sent, Trash and other folders are always empty. I've tried the suggested fix of deleting Outlook from the kindle, and re-installing it. This sometimes works, but usually doesn't. When it does work, it's only temporary... eventually these folders become empty again. There must be a permanent fix for this... anyone? thanks!

My hotmail.com account has been migrated to outlook.com and I seem to have lost ALL of my emails and folders.

All I have is one email from Microsoft welcoming me to my new Outlook inbox.

 

How can I recover these emails/folders and how do I contact Microsoft so report this?

two days ago I checked my email and found that years worth of emails have been deleted from my inbox and folders. I didn't do this, 
WTF? I have restored what I could via deleted messages, but there are hundreds of missing emails. What can i do????? Microsoft needs to give me some serious help or I will never use anything of theirs ever again. I have lost years of work files, tax reciepts etc. All i was doing was checking my inbox and deleting messages as anyone normally would and then it was empty, and half my folders were empty. please help! can microsoft reset it to where it was a week ago?????

When Microsoft changed to Outlook, I've had trouble with the folders.  Can not find a missing folder that disappeared when I was trying to empty and delete unused folders.  Still want to delete some old folders.  Help!
