Contacts not showing online on one computer but they do on another.

My contacts on one computer are showing offline.when I know they are online...on another computer they show online which is what they are, so I am not sure what is going on...Does anyone know how to get this fixed?

I can talk to them when I go into edit my privacy settings but thats it.

Frustration is starting to set in...Please let me know what I can do...

I can edit and delete people in my contact list but then I go back to hotmail and nothing changes there.  It's still all the old information.  Why is that and how can I actually change my contact's information?
