I have not signed into my hotmail in quite some time. But I have an account specific to this email address. Anyway, when requesting for username/password to be sent to email, I realized that my hotmail is not receiving some messages. I checked junk mail, looked at blocked senders and other options, and everything is fine. I sent a test email from my gmail account and it's not showing up in inbox (as of 30 minutes later). And funny, have not received any bounced email message from my gmail (again, as of 30 minutes later).
Can someone provide help or look into my account please?

I have recently received an email on my gmail account that states:
Your Microsoft account has been renamed. We just wanted to check with you that it's okay.
- Old account name: my gmail account name
- New account name: a live.com account name not associated with me
If this is correct, you don't need to do anything.
If this is incorrect, please follow these steps:
1. Reset your password by going to https://account.live.com/password/reset
2. Rename your account by going to https://account.live.com/

Shortly after that I received another email saying the account name had been changed from the new one to a completely different one at outlook.com
I am concerned first because my gmail account was listed and that is where I received the email from "Microsoft account team". I have already changed my password on my gmail account but what other steps do I need to take to insure my accounts are safe?

I know that there have been issues with outlook/Hotmail (and by the look of the community messages so are lots of other people still) and I read that these issues have been rectified and now according to your service status all system are "running normal". BUT I am having issues (have been for the last 2 days) Mail app on windows 8 keeps coming up "couldn't sync messages", I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still not working with my Hotmail account. Thru frustration I signed up for a Gmail account and added this to the mail app in windows 8 and it works perfectly? So I don't have a problem with the app or my computer. I am also experiencing the same issue with iPhone and ipad and I have also deleted and reinstalled Hotmail account but still experiencing issues (added Gmail and it works perfectly also).
I have been having intermittent connection & sync issues with outlook 2013 (same Hotmail address) on my computer over this period as well, but cant rely on this at the moment.
There must be an issue with my individual Hotmail account service, and from what I am reading I am not alone. I require this to be fixed and require a Microsoft support person to investigate and come back to me with a solution/fix.
