Hello,

I am attempting to arrange an email from a domain hosted by godaddy.  The domain is cashflowtuna.com.  It is a commercial finance knowledge base and sales site.

Can you please help me figure out why this is happening?

Thank you very much!

Avi

I have been using Microsoft Outlook 2011 on my MacBook Pro for a few months now.  I have a handful of email accounts set up on it.  In the beginning, all were POP accounts.  A month or two back, I converted a couple of them along with my Gmail account to IMAP.  The Gmail account is working fine with no errors.  The other two IMAP accounts hosted by GoDaddy work fine about 99% of the time, but I get a handful of -3170 errors at random times daily.  I can't seem to find any sort of pattern or triggers for these errors.  So again, these email addresses work in Outlook almost all the time fine, but a few times daily I'll get these errors, and then it goes back to normal.

So far, the steps I've taken to resolve this are:

I've checked the DNS settings and they're working well.
All of the account information for both email addresses has been checked a number of times and are correct in Outlook.
I've contacted GoDaddy to check the email accounts and servers which checked out OK according to their tech support.
I've contacted Uverse (our ISP) to confirm that our broadband signals are clean which they are.
I've asked Uverse to confirm that the ports required were open and that they weren't closing during the day which they say they are not.
I've replaced the Uverse gateway with a new updated version.
I've deleted both email accounts from Outlook and re-entered the information.
I've uninstalled MS Office 2011 and Re-installed it

After doing all of this, I continue to get this -3170 error a few times daily and it seems like those email accounts are not able to sync, send or receive emails for a few minutes until it comes back up.  During this time, my internet and wifi connection is fine.  In fact, I've set up the same email addresses in Mac Mail and when Outlook has this hiccup, Mac Mail is still connected to these email addresses like normal.

I'm not really sure what my next steps should be to troubleshoot this error, but they're making me crazy.  Below is the setup I'm running.  Thanks in advance for any help.  If I've forgotten any details, feel free to let me know and I'll be glad to provide any other info I can.

2011 MacBook Pro
OSX Mountain Lion
MS Office for Mac 2011 - Home & Business
IMAP email hosted by GoDaddy
I have the following setup:

ISP:  Verizon
Email Provider:  GoDaddy
Outlook 2011, version 14.3.7

My email was working fine last week.  This week, I have been having problems sending emails and it has been getting worse and worse each day.  Any time I try to send an email, it gets stuck in my Outbox.  I get the following Error:

Outlook cannot find the server. Verify the server information is entered correctly in the Account Settings, and that your DNS settings in the Network pane of System Preferences are correct.

Below that, under the Details Tab, it says

Mail could not be sent.
Account Name:  "my account name"

Error Code:  -3176

I contacted Verizon, who verified my connection was fine.  I contacted GoDaddy who confirmed my settings were proper and that I can send email using their account if I log in to my webmail.

Sometimes the emails will finally just be released from the outbox.  Sometimes I have to hit "Send/Receive All" about 40 times.  Other times, it has helped to close out of Outlook and start it again.  I have rebooted my computer a number of times, but that does not seem to help.  Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks.
I am rather computer illiterate.  I just changed my email host server from cbeyond (exchange mail server) to a basic email option with godaddy.  I can send emails out of outlook but cant receive emails.  Can any help?
Changed MX record at GoDaddy according to MS instructions.  Email works, but sent messages are marked as sent from a Hotmail account, on behalf of my email address, and I get the above error message.  Reset the MX record at GoDaddy (although the existing record appeared to be OK).  Same result.  I've noticed that someone from MS has investigated this problem on some accounts and made adjustments.  I'm hoping for the same.  The email address in question is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.
Hi,

I am trying to migrate to outlook.com server from Godaddy email server. I have been getting Pending DNS configuration status for more than past 24 hours. I also changed CNAME records for mail and calendar and they started working within 30 minutes. However, until I am not able to prove my ownership of my domain theworldreporter.com I cannot proceed.

Error Message: You need to prove ownership of this domain by creating a DNS record. Use the settings below.

I am aware that I need to update MX records in my domain registrar. I did the same copying from domains.live.com. While updating, Godaddy did not show any error. I have tried refreshing domains.live.com page every one hour since yesterday, but no luck.

I have updated Godaddy DNS zone file for

  1. Mail Setup
  2. Prove Domain ownership
  3. Server Trust
  4. Messenger Configuration

At the moment I have more than one MX records. Kindly help me with this issue.

Thanks and Regards

After updating to Office 14.3.7 Outlook is very slow to bring emails to inbox.  We use GoDaddy for email server (IMAP NOT EXCHANGE) and contacted them but they reported no errors with GoDaddy server.  I have 3 email accounts on this Outlook but it is only my default (main) email account that is having this issue. I created an alternate identity with no luck.  i deleted the plist with no luck.  please advise...
Hello,

My Domain and Hosting(weconsulta.com) is with GoDaddy.com.

They have provided very few email ids to use. But as my small firm grows, I need more email ids for my office. For that i need to use OUTLOOK.COM as my email server.

I have updated the MX record in the DNS manager section of GODADDY, but live.com / outlook.com always shows it as "Pending DNS configuration".

I have attached the Screenshot of that outlook.com page with this mail. I have also spoken with godaddy execuite regarding this issue. They informed me that they have updated the MX record in thier entry and it can checked at "mxtoolbox.com" and "network-tools.com". I have also checked and found that it has been updated by the GoDaddy Team. I have attached the screenshot of the result of verification from "mxtoolbox.com" and "network-tools.com".

I am fedup with this issue.

Kindly guide me to resolve it.

Hello
I registered a domain and made the necesssary changes in the dns zone file on godaddy. But i've been waiting for days, i still get a warning saying that i need to prove my domain ownership.
I created the required MX record "XXXX.pam1.hotmail.com", a TXT record with "v=spf1 include:hotmail.com ~all" to prove ownership, and the server trust and messenger configurations. I also read the forum in vain.
My domain is lelynx.net
