I'm thinking of migrating from Gmail (and other Google services) to Outlook.com, but I'm not sure how I should handle this.

Currently I have one mail address at Outlook.com of which it's mail is moved using POP3 to Gmail (mostly for legacy reasons, it hasn't been my main address since ~2007 and was pretty much only used for WLM after that).

I sync my Google mail, contacts and calendar (which I don't want to transfer one by one, by the way) to my Windows Phone.

I want to turn this all around. My mail, contacts and calendar should all be stored on Outlook and my mail should be fetched from Gmail and imported into Outlook.

How should I get around to doing this?

On the Windows Phone side it's just tapping a few checkboxes but on the Outlook side (especially contacts and calendar) it looks all complicated.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Dear Sir or Madam:

On Wednesday, August 14, 2013, I got an error message from Outlook.com about having technical problems when I try to sign into this website with Internet Explorer 8.

Yesterday and today, I sign into Outlook.com with Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome browsers and the Outlook.com graphical user interface looks incomplete, loads improperly and displays some navigation links in the wrong locations.

I have included the JPEG snapshot images of Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome browsers showing the Outlook.com graphical user interface issues.

Please reply back soon.

Thanks.

The problem began that I couldn't resize attached photos.  Now, I can't seem to attach photos at all.  Message says "file exceeds limit".  I tried using IE instead of Google as the browser, and now I can't even get my email account to come up.  What is happening???
I have a Google Mail account set up to receive and send messages via the Outlook.com servers. Receiving works fine, but sending has recently started bouncing back with this error:

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

        (recipient email address)

   Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the relay smtp.live.com by smtp.live.com. [65.55.162.200].

The error that the other server returned was:
535 5.2.1 Login to your account via a web browser to verify your account. (SMTP AUTH failed with the remote server)

Sending directly from the Outlook.com webmail works fine, as does sending via an SMTP client on my computer (I used Office Outlook without the Hotmail connector to test it). This problem appears to be confined only to sending via Google Mail.

I've checked all the settings (server = smtp.live.com, port = 587, secured via TLS) and reentered my email address and password, but to no avail.

I'm not really sure what the error message means. Is it saying that I simply have to log in to the Outlook.com webmail to verify the account? Because I've done that and it didn't change anything. Or is there an additional verification page somewhere that has to be used? If so, I can't locate it.

Can anyone please advise how this may be fixed?

This morning my/our email went down.  As we all now know it was a Microsoft issue.  When it came back this afternoon, my PC and my OLD Ipad (which is grandfathered on Google Sync) works perfectly.  BUT....my NEW Ipad, which requires I have an Exchange account in order to sync my Outlook emails and calendar with my PC etc. (thanks to Google discontinuing Google Sync for new devices), will receive emails but will note SEND emails!  Help!

Up until 3 days ago I was able to go straight to my emails from my home page of Google by hitting the Hotmail in the left hand corner. Now the screen says Oops! Internet Explorer could not find co116w.col116.mail.com  .  So then I have to Google Search for Hotmail.com & then hit the website of Hotmail.com that says Sign In.  Why should I have to go thru this process every time?  What has changed?
I see I am not the only one who has lost Spell Check since Outlook took over Hotmail.   WHERE IS IT AND WILL SOMEONE PLEASE REPLY TO ME?    I am seriously considering moving to Google as the new Outlook is VERY inefficient.    If there is a human being out there somewhere, maybe he/she would have the courtesy of answering our queries and doing something to solve the problem!    This is my fourth time of attempting to contact you with this problem.

I am a Google email user. Trying to use Google Drive to email my daughter some zip photo folders. Internet Connection is asking me about POP "Incoming mail (ie POP3, IMAP, or HTTP server), and Outgoing mail (SMTP) server. I have no idea what this means. Have never used Microsoft email of any type. Please help!!
G'day,

I've spent about an hour searching the forums and found bits and pieces of information but much of it is quite dated.

I have a Macbook Air running Mountain Lion OS, my company has an exchange server, and I use and Android phone (Android 4.1.2).  I am an experienced Office user, but it has always been in a PC environment.

I am running Outlook for Mac 2011 version 14.3.6

I would like to be able to utilize Outlook for all emails, contacts, tasks, and appointments and synchronize all of the data between my Mac and my Android device.

Is there any way that I can do this via icloud, exchange, or google? Are there any third party solutions that will handle all of this? I am currently running a very piecemeal method requiring separate solutions for Calendar (BusyCal), Tasks (Wunderlist), Contacts (Apple Contact), and Email (Outlook).

Help would be much appreciated.
