How do I slow transition~??

I want to use the scrolling control on some narration of several paragraphs (it's a Halloween Greeting) on a movie I'm making.  Everything works fine except that the scroll (bottom to top) is moving too quickly.  It's very difficult to read the text at the speed it is scrolling and I want to slow it down.  How do I do that, assuming there is a way?  "Back in the Old Days" when I used Movie Maker 2.6 there was a "slow" option.  However, in the current Movie Maker, there seems to be no obvious way to slow scrolling.  Does anyone know how to do it?  *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
