Are we still not able to rename a hotmail.com email address to a outlook.com address? Considering all of the issues, maybe i'd be better off leaving the hotmail address alone and just creating a new email address duplicating my current email address but using outlook.com.

Yes I'd have to manually add my contacts, but at least I'm not in fear off losing my emails when changing my current hotmail address to a outlook.com address.

Recently I started having issues with Windows Live Mail, I now cannot send from my comcast address or my own website address, both of which I receive just fine. I can still send from my hotmail address, which is also received through Windows Live Mail. When I click on the Properties tab (under Accounts) to check the settings, which is suggested, it will not open.  Any help available with this issue?  thank you.

[Moved from feedback]

My mail client is Windows Live Mail on Windows 7.  I have recently created a new Outlook account that is linked to my old Hotmail account and have no problems receiving all my emails.  However, when I send an email, it always defaults to the Outlook address, despite me selecting my Hotmail alias.  The copy in the Sent folder shows a Hotmail address, but the recipient sees an Outlook address.  What do I need to do to get the recipient to see my Hotmail address?

I want to keep my hotmail address private from someone watching me type.
In the last 2 days I have not received my emails. I have checked all the settings and blocked addresses/ junk mail etc. I have sent a tester email from another address and from my hotmail address which has not worked. Does anyone know why this is happening and what to do please?
Why are the emails I send from my Hotmail account all going to Hotmail recipients junk folders? I was wondering why I was never getting answers from people when I was responding to their Craigslist ads. Then someone answered my email and said it went to their junk folder so they didn't notice it for a while. So I did tests with my alternate Hotmail addresses and sure enough every single email I am sending to another Hotmail address is going to the recipients junk folders. But when I tested by sending to one of my Gmail addresses, it went to the inbox and was not listed as spam. Why is this happening?
I just did the upgrade on my laptop. Am nervous about doing it on my PC
Have a skype account....don't use it much these days:-(  So many of the features that this merger will provide, As a senior, will not use.
So.....will I have a new email address?
A lot of the seniors where I live are going to outlook.
Would very much like to keep my hot mail address, but Change is Change and I am finding out
it is not necessarily good for the customers:-(

Just paid for my mailbox for 2013, silly isn't it if there is not going to be hot mail in 2013:-)
Can not find a contact to get THIS question answered:-(

*** Email address is removed for privacy ***  (for now)
I changed my hotmail address slightly and now the inbox has been wiped out.  Can I get my old hotmail address back?
I answered an ad online for a pug puppy.I received an answer from  *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and I would love to know where it originated as I believe this person is scamming for money. For instance it supposedly came from a remote outback Australian town ,Pop.316.Rang the Post Office there to be told they didnt recognise the name Jane Brooks and didnt know of anyone in town by that name. Also Email was written in very poor english and the person seemed way to eager to proceed with transaction on any weekday but being familiar with the town and knowing freight is only carried on Tuesday and Friday, I thought this was off!Your early response would be greatly appreciated.
My email is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
