I'm trying to reset my hotmail password and I received this email, but what is the next step? I did not receive any link to go to, and if I try to enter this code in the password field for my email account it fails..
Can anybody help?
Hi,
Thanks for helping us verify your Microsoft account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***)!
Here is your code: XXXXX
If you didn't request this code, we recommend that you go to https://account.live.com and change your password.
Thanks,
The Microsoft account team
my old alternate email has already been closed and i can't sign in anymore to get the security code. however, i managed to figure another way to get the link to reset my hotmail password by sending the link to another alternate email account. it was successful and i followed the steps BUT, the password is reset BUT i still have to submit the questionaire form but i can't send it again because it says to wait 24 hours. n its been 24 hours already since yesterday.
help. i really need this account as i've been using it for more than a decade.
I have a friend who's facebook account has been hacked. The problem is that someone did hack his hotmail account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) associated with facebook as well.
Since he is not keen with computers, I have tried resetting the hotmail password with the secret question (since he gave me the answer) but I couldnt do so because someone had tried to many times in the past with the wrong answer so cant use that option.
The other option is to send a new password to a mail address but the hacked changed that.
Now my friend cant fill much in the form provided my Microsoft (Just his basic info and perhaps his CC details) but I was wondering if there is a way to prove his identity by scanning and sending out to an e-mail address his ID and Drivers License.
Would that help in any way?
Thank you in advance
Had a photo go missing from my Flickr photostream so changed my Flickr password and my Hotmail password. Next time I went to log in to my Hotmail account my new password was refused. I went round in circles trying to resolve this with the Microsoft options available to me. Eventually set up a new Outlook account, and notified Microsoft support of the problems I was having. When I went to log in to my new Outlook account today was not able to and the message over the account log in box was 'account doesn't exist' (even though had been using account last night!) Was able to log into Flickr last night will do so later, assuming I can. Have no idea what is going on - very frustrating and time consuming - not had any problem like this before.
