Now, after several failed attempts MS have suggested that I make a new account. This is not good. I will have to scrap the game account which I have been using for many years and start fresh with a new one instead. I can easily make the same friends again but I will lose of all my achievements!

About 3 months ago, I received an email from Microsoft to change my password, since then my Hotmail on my iphone 5 will ask me for my password at least twice a day. I enter the correct password and it fails until I open safari and login manually, that's the only way my Hotmail will authenticate. I have done everything possible to fix this problem. I have cleared my history, cookies and safari data, deleted the Hotmail account, re-added the account numerous times, changed my password about 10 times leaving out strange characters. I know it's not my iphone because I add my husbands Hotmail account and his account works. I don't have Hotmail added on anything other then my windows 8 laptop. I have logged out of Windows 8 and it still happens. I will place the password in settings and it will fail and error with unable to verify account information. I have tried adding Hotmail on my iphone by using Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Hotmail and Other with no success. I have deleted all my email, changed sync settings, etc. I have tried everything possible and now I'm convinced it's a problem with my Hotmail account somehow being locked. Please check my account.
Thank You
Hotmail started saying that I was using the incorrect password. Since I created my account over 15 years ago, the mobile number is old and the security question, at that time was created to be a reminder for my password, so therefore it doesn't work. I
have been on the online chat and given the validation form to fill out and my reference ID is 1213597554 and told that someone would get back to me in 48 hours which hasn't happened. I'm getting very anxious because I'm due to fly in a few days and the details
are in the email account. No one is able to provide any information. I can't talk to anyone. There isn't even an official platform to lodge a complaint. I want to know what hotmail is going to do if I miss my flight. I can't believe that it takes this
long to recover an account. What can I do to expediate this matter!?????
If recovering an account is this complicated, then I don't understand why hotmail doesn't force us to update our information every 6 months when we log on. Surely after all the people on this forum have been long time users suddenly locked out and not remembering
their information from over 10 years ago, I'd think that hotmail would come up with much easier ways to recover accounts and verify owners.
My old hotmail account was linked to my new outlook account until recently when the linked feature was disabled by MS. Now I can't get into my old hotmail account because I forgot the old hotmail password (I never needed it because the accounts were linked and I could get to it from new new email). I've tried all the options under how to reset my password for my old account and they have all failed. How am I suppose to regain access to my old hotmail? There are important emails in there I need to have.
