I was trying to add an alias to my hotmail account but now the "Alias" has taken over. I tried to go back to my old ID but none of the instructions provided by the microsoft team works. In order to sign into my hotmail account I now have to use the new
alias with my old password. The old ID doesn't work, although when I send an email I have the option to choose between the new and old ID. is there anyway I can just undo everything and sign on to my hotmail account using my old ID and password? Here is the
message I got from microsoft but nothing works:
Your Microsoft account has been renamed. We just wanted to check with you that it's okay.
- Old account name: j************** Email address is removed for privacy ***
- New account name: n********* Email address is removed for privacy ***
If this is correct, you don't need to do anything.
If this is incorrect, please follow these steps:
1. Reset your password by going to https://account.live.com/password/reset
2. Rename your account by going to https://account.live.com/
Thanks,
The Microsoft account team

When I try to login to my Hotmail.com account a message saying the account is blocked appears.
Clicking the "continue" button sends to a page with a link to the unblock procedure, but clicking this link just returns me to the "blocked" message ie: the link https://account.live.com doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas anybody?
