After a serious database corruption, I've succeeded rebuilding my Outlook identity (with the great help of Diane Ross).
I've moved now tons of messages that were 'On my computer' into folders of an IMAP email account (Hover). However, Outlook doesn't seem to 'sync' folders automatically. It's only when I go into a certain folder and press 'Synchronize now' (by right clicking)
that it synchronizes all emails. This is however not feasible, as I've 5000+ folders. Any way to 'force' Outlook to synchronize all messages to make sure they are 'synchronized'/pushed into my IMAP email account?
(I'm receiving new messages in my inbox without any problem).
Why does Mac Mail makes Hotmail and Gmail POP accounts by default while Windows Live Mail doesn't? My email rules work for all my accounts with Mac Mail, while Live Mail has only one of my four accounts set as POP and therefore email rules are not working
as they should. I use Parallels on my MacBook Pro and having to choose between the two mail clients, Live Mail has no chance this way...
I have tried to find a solution to create a local/personal folder for my mails. I'm using IMAP account with outlook and my server space is running out.
For some reason I have not found a solution for this. When I have created a new folder the system does not ask or show where the folder is located and I can not get the properties open for the folder.
Trying to access Gmail via POP in Windows Live Mail (Win 7 Pro). POP enabled and IMAP disabled in Gmail. But when conficuting servers in WLM, there is no way to change IMAP to POP as there is no arrow beside IMAP box on servers page.
My Outlook "syncs" emails without my having set-up anything. I have no rules or sync settings, no schedules, no sync services set-up, no IMAP accounts, no exchange server, no nothing...
It keeps "syncing" and duplication thousands of messages - it's a waste of time and energy sorting them out.
1. What's happening?
2. How do I sort it out?

What are the settings to use hotmail with IMAP. I need the ports and incoming and outgoing settings.
Recently set up an gmail IMAP account in Windows LIve mail for a friend. She receives three copies of every email. What do I do to fix this?
I have a problem with Outlook for Mac (2011 v14.2.4) using IMAP folders. My provider's mail server software (Qmail) creates a file in the root of the folder structure called .qmail - it keeps properties in it I understand - and Outlook seems to not only
see this file but decide that it's a folder and subscribe to it automatically. Once this happens it turns into a folder (which then appears on other devices) and I can delete it (but not unsubscribe to it). I have to delete it to stop Outlook posting a 1025
error every 10 minutes or so because it's not accessible.
The .qmail file doesn't show up if the server is queried using the IMAP protocol (LIST "" "*") so I am disappointed that Outlook sees this file AND turns it into a folder by subscribing to it AND won't let me unsubscribe to it after that AND resubscribes me if I unsubscribe using the Webmail tools for this account. It could hardly be handling this more incorrectly if it tried...
Is there any way to check that Outlook is using the IMAP protocol correctly to build it's folder list? It seems from this and other issues on the site as though it really isn't.
For now I have set Tools / Accounts / <this account> / Advanced / Server and unchecked "Sync all IMAP folders every 10 minutes" and have deleted the folder from Outlook. Hopefully it will now stay gone and not give me the error any more but there seems to be a problem now with the unread message count. Presumably this is because the folder isn't being refreshed? In which case D'oh! I have been resetting the unread counts manually: because I read all the mail I can do this fairly easily but if I was using the unread message count seriously it would be completely broken for me now.
Any ideas about how I can get the IMAP folders enumerated correctly so that the .qmail file is not read as a folder? I think this would be okay if Outlook used the IMAP LIST command to read the server but I guess it has some extensions to work with Exchange that are actually not quite compatible...
Thanks for reading!

Hi,
On September 19, 2012, Update 14.2.4 was releases for Office for Mac 2011, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2742588.
Since that update I am having trouble syncing my folders to Google Mail. Most of the time the sync just aborts without any message. Sometimes I get an error saying that the client cannot authenticate to the Google Mail IMAP server and I can re-enter my
details. To no avail.
Most articles and blogs about this issue suggest turning off the "Send multiple commands to server simultaneously" option. Unfortunately that option is not present in the Server tab of the Advanced option of the Google Mail IMAP account I have created.
In fact, the option I can see in that tab don't match with what is described in the corresponding help documentation. See http://twitpic.com/b3or30/full. Anybody know what's going on here? Maybe
I'll need to downgrade to 14.2.3 but that feels a bit, euh, backward.
Thx for any hints on how to fix this! Regards, Vincent.
