I am trying to add a new contact in Windows Mail who has a hotmail.com address. Each time I get the following error message - "The contact information could not be saved. Check the contact's information and try again" The contact information is correct because the e-mail arrived in my in-box and I simply clicked on the hypertext ADD CONTACT. What could the problem be? Thanks for any input.
I got an e-mail from the Microsoft Team they saidthey would have to reset my password because an e-mail I received had a Virus they said if they did not hear from me in 24 hours they would block Hot MailThey wanted to know my user name and password I hit Reply and a prompt came up
which said do not give your information out so I didn't and now my e-mail is blocked and I do not know what to do
Our home PC is older running Windows XP, as well as IE 8 with Outlook Express.
Love Outlook Express! Our home users all use that still.
But I realize that when our old PC dies soon, we will be getting Windows 8. I have another personal laptop running Windows 7 and IE 10, so begrudgingly getting used to Live Mail for email on that machine (and getting used to Windows 8 on my new Surface, but it has a useless mail app).
Seems like I read a lot of problems experienced by XP systems downloading Live Mail. And in fact, it doesn't list XP as a supported system. But it would be nice if I could do that on our old PC, because other household users besides myself could get used to it and transfer data, before the machine dies.
Of course, I'm thinking that Live Mail can store information in the cloud, so it's easy to set up a new machine? Is that true, or is information stored only on the machine?
Anyhow, should I try and download it to XP, too much risk to bother with it?
Hi,
I just would like to let you all know that, If you have recived any sort of email that is asking you for your detailes.
Please DO NOT REPLY.
These types of emails are from Hackers wanting to gain access onto your account. If you encounter any mesages like this then you should:
Deleate the email straight away (If it is saying Microsoft or Xbox ive then please report it to Microsoft or Xbox Live before deleating it, they will tell you if it is genuine)
Do NOT reply or foward the email onto another person. For moest people this could be a joke but many people at my school forward emailes like this onto others, Please DONT as you are putting their account in danger as well.
Im sorry if this seems a waste of time but I dont think this is, I think this is Important.
If you would like more information on keeping your account safe then please follow this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/hotmail/hacked-account-faq.
As I said before: this is not a question that I would like answereing. One of my friends had is Yahoo account hacked because of an email asking him for his detailes, and I do not want this to happen to you or anybody else in the future
