There are various problems with IMAP synchronization. I will try to explain in the order I experienced them.
I am subscribed to Office365 and I wanted to try Outlook for Mac 2011. Its version is: 14.4.1 (140326)
After adding my outlook account using wizard, the initial synchronization was awfully slow. Granted, I had about 10000 emails in both Archived and Sent folders so it was somewhat understandable. But still, it took more than an hour to finish, which seems more than enough to me, considering the fact that just the headers are being synchronized.
After the initial synchronization ended, I received an email that I read and deleted. It took about 2 minutes for this mail to appear in Deleted folder in the browser (despite I was insistently clicking the Send/Receive button, right-clicking and selecting Synchronize on relevant folders). The actions I take inside Outlook program takes forever to sync over IMAP. This is the second problem.
Finally, I moved the same email from Deleted to Inbox using Outlook. I checked the web interface and the email was gone from Deleted but it never appeared in anywhere else. I logged out and logged in, refreshed the browser, cleaned my cache, tried various browsers from either Mac or PC. The mail appears on different IMAP clients like Mail on my Mac. It also appears on my Android phone using Outlook application. This is my third and weirdest problem.
