Hi,

My hotmail temporarily freezes for 10's of seconds to many minutes.  The processor is not busy, only 4% and there is no data uploading or down loading during these periods.  The only solution to stop the longer freezes is to disconnect the internet connection and reconnect it and then instantly all is OK until it happens again.  I am running I.E. 8 on an XP machine and have run a full virus check with Norton that showed no problems.

What is the possible cause of the Hotmail freezing issue???

Regards

Derek

Within the last two weeks my Mac Outlook is extremely slow to sync with my server ( remote)  My internet connection is Comcast Business so it's fast. I am using current generation Mac Air.  At this time point I have had my laptop open for 15 minutes and Outlook is yet to update Outlook.

Our IT guy says switch to Mac Mail which I really don't want to do  HELP !!
Original Title: Still having outlook out box problems...
Hi,

I posted on here a few weeks back about how my messages had suddenly started to become stuck in my outbox after previously working fine. I received a helpful response from Cortig at that time but am posting again because it's still not resolved. To re-cap:

I am using Outlook 2011 for Mac (with Lion OS) and my emails have suddenly stopped sending and are sitting stuck in the outbox. The error messages received are either 3259 ("an operation on the server timed out.....") or error 3260 ("Outlook cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is connected to the network") with 3260 being the most recent and frequent. This is not an internet connection issue as all other internet programmes are working.

Its a small business POP account, I set it up myself and it has been working fine for for the last 3 months. I initially had this same problem (but can't remember the error message) and managed to sort it out by overiding the default port 25 and using 587 instead (picked this up on another forum and it worked fine). I have tried reverting the default port and using port 26, rebuilding the outlook database (holding shift or option when starting), and emptying all folders and restarting the programme. - I have also disabled the account and then re-installed it

Obviously I have tried using the email account remotely and this is working as normal so its definitely an Outlook issue. Have there been any recent updates or patches I've missed?

We're a small business (3 staff and no IT department) and I'm the only one having a problem. Any help or suggestions gratefully received

Since the above messages suggested a server error I have spent the last couple of weeks speaking with the people who host my website and email. They have found no problem their end and even managed to load my email account on one of their machines and have it working fine. This must therefore suggest a problem with my machine and they suggested I turn off any anti-virus software or firewall BUT I'm using a MacBook Pro with no antivirus software installed and the firewall disabled.....

Anyone know of any Mac updates that could have caused this? (as I said, it worked fine for months before this started).

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know as I am tearing my hair out here

thanks
