Original Title: Internet Explorer and Windows Live Mail

Since downloading Internet Explorer 8 my Windows Live Mail no longer retains addresses in groups. When I click on Contacts, all my groups are displayed including all the names asigned to the group. However, when sending an email, the group name appears in the To box, but none of the names are included. I've tried to redo the groups with a different group name, but when I try to send an email to the new group, the names and addresses don't carry over. How can I correct this problem?

I can NOT "Forward" in the upgraded?? outlook - I am using Windows XP and hence Internet Explorer 8 - any suggestions??

windows 7

outlook 10

Internet Explorer

Can open outlook but can only open one email at a time, if I refresh the page I can do another task.

I have tried all suggested fixes, https, cookies, reinstall all programmes.

Using Firefox, Chrome and I.E. HAS GIVEN SAME PROBLEM.

Gmail works perfectly on same laptop with I.E.

Hotmail/outlook works perfectly on another laptop.

Original title: Internet Explorer 8

My Internet Explorer 8 cannot be opened via desktop shortcut or " start/programs". It can be opened only via "start/programs/accessories/system tools/Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). As a result some webs cannot be opened and read.

I want to put spell check on my hotmail toolbar. I cannot find it now (the bar looks like the above now) when they updated this week from the good, older version. I have to go in to hotmail with google chrome NOT internet explorer as the upgrade caused a lag in typing--the letters appear long after you type them. My tech support people said use chrome instead to fix that problem. But no one knows how to add spell check. One version said press Alt key and then click View > Toolbar. Select from menu. Nothing happens. Why is it gone?

If I click on a mailto: link in any browser I receive a message "could not perform this operation ....  Mail Client is not properly installed".  If then I click OK about 50 Windows of Internet Explorer open and it locks up.  Restart fixes it.

I don't know when this started because I rarely click on a mailto: link in a browser.

Windows 7 x 32, IE10, Windows Live Mail Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308) (default), Thunderbird, Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes.

I have tried the following:

Reset Windows Live Mail to all defaults

Repaired Windows Live Mail

Set Thunderbird to default (still get the error)

Set Windows Live Mail to all defaults again

Reset Internet Explorer 10

i'm bundled with the phone company for tv, phone and internet.  called them because I can't get email page to come up - they said they no longer handle MSN so call them.  I did but no one responds.

My husband accidentaly deleted his email, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, and we need to have the steps to restore. Thanks, Joan DiGiovanni

[Moved from Internet Explorer]

My internet explorer was upgraded to 10.  Now when I go to send a new E Mail the spell checker is no longer on the tool bar alongside the draft

function.  How can I get the spell checker back to the tool bar ?

Yesterday I wrote that I couldn't write or send emails, got a funny screen when I tried, etc. Today I still can't do it through my default browser, Firefox (up to date, 19.0), but can do it through an older Internet Explorer. The symbols that appear above this message as I type are all scrambled when the funny screen appears.

Just before the problem began yesterday I had clicked on "learn more" re the switch to Outlook (info that appears opposite the Hotmail sign in box). I didn't sign up, but I did look at that for a moment. Could it have had an effect? The last problem I had w/Firefox was resolved when you gave concrete steps to follow about my browser. Unfortunately, I don't remember. But I'm wondering if it could help me now. Thanks.
