Since Outlook for Mac 2011 did a major update a month ago I have had so much trouble.  No syncing will occur. I have deleted identities, deleted all the sync preferences and finally got to the stage where I could actually set SyncServices to allow me to choose contacts, events etc to sync.  But still nothing syncs to ical or Address Book.  I have signed out of iCloud as some forums suggested this may be an issue.  I am going mad.
I really wish I had never done the update.
I was blocked from my account because I was hacked and spam went out.  I was immediately blocked!  My alternate email address listed is one I have not had access to for years.  I can't get my account unblocked.  I have tried everything and I just get sent around in circles always coming back to needing access to that old account.  I can see on this forum that MANY people have this same issue.  Please help me as you have helped others!  I need help ASAP!
Thank you.
Does anyone have an anticipated release date for Office for Mac 2011 Version 14.2.3? I must get the issue with the outlook date dropping and other nuances fixed. thank you.

I have opened a few shared calendars and I obviously have tried to do something in the shared calendar I didn't have permissions to do.

Now I CONTINUALLY get:

Error
----
Permission Error. Changes to the event "Ask the expert session - Microsoft" could not be saved because you do not have the appropriate permission.

Details
----

This appears every minute!

The only way to stop the error is to close down the shared calendar which I can't do. I need it.

Also why on earth when you have permissions to view a person calendar does Outlook 2011 think I can send mail in their behalf. Doesn't make sense.

PLEASE get some of the Office 2010 devs to work on Office 2011. It is a crippled product.

Cheers

Hello

I'm asking this question on behalf of one of our Office:Mac users. After installing and setting up Outlook to connect to the Exchange server in the office, the user is complaining about a rather strange issue. Outlook is behaving as if it was interacting with a POP account, namely deleting server messages after they have been downloaded on the Mac. This becomes apparent when emails come in and are seen on his PC and Phone, but as soon as the Mac receives the email, the message disappears from the server and is only available locally on the Mac.

I've installed Office:Mac 2011 on another Mac computer to see if I can duplicate the issue, but this installation behaves as you would expect. I can't figure out what the problem is. The Outlook that's acting up is set up straight out of the box with all default settings and connected to one Exchange account. The On My Computer folder is hidden, there are no rules to delete messages on the server, and there doesn't seem to be any reason for it to do what it's doing.

What diagnostic information can I find, look at, or provide in order to diagnose what's wrong and fix it?

Many thanks
Adrian

I use Microsoft Live Mail.  I'm having some issues with this software on my desktop computer.

The first question is:  When I highlight an e-mail that I want to delete and then hit the delete key, the e-mail should disappear and move to the delete mailbox but that is not occurring until I go out of Live Mail and then go back in.  This issue does not occur on my laptop computer.

The second question is that when I hit the Send/Receive button a the top of the screen to refresh and bring in any outstanding e-mails, it shows the number of e-mails that are new but they don't appear in the inbox until I go out of Live Mail and then back in again.  Help!!!

My user is having an issue with his timezone on his Mac office 2011.  Outlook thinks his computer is currently on Central Time which is not.  The OSX correct timezone is Eastern Timzone.  Currently Outlook calendar does not list Eastern timezone and it only give him CT,MT,PT as the only options.  His Mac is running the latest OSX Lion and disabled location services.  He tried setting to different timezones in Outlook and reboot but no avail.  The Eastern timezone doesn't seem to be an option for him in his Outlook.

I'm just wondering if this is a new bug introduced in the latest SP.

I have an odd problem searching in Outlook.  I have done the usual steps of rebuilding the database, forcing Spotlight to reindex, deleting the files in the library preferences that Microsoft recommends.  But I can't quite believe this is an indexing issue.

The problem I have is this. I want to search for all Outlook mails that fall in a specific date range.  I have found that all Outlook searches by "sent" or "date received" using a date criterion work only if the date provided is not a calendar date. in other words it finds all mails sent "this week", "this month" perfectly.  I can also use the "greater than" criterion and enter the number of days, and that works too. Thus it finds all mail sent more than 700 days ago also perfectly.  But when I ask it to fund all mails sent before or even on 05/01/2011 it does not work, and produces strange answers.

When I called into the IT help at my university, the tech person there (not a mac specialist) seemed to have the same problem.  Is there an issue with microsoft exchange servers with the latest iterations of office 2011?

Grateful for any help.
