I've got a user who's getting this message when trying to send signed emails. The certificates on her CAC were signed by CA-31, which is not included in Apple's SystemCACertificates keychain, so I downloaded and imported them into her login keychain,
but the error persists. There are no issues that I can see in Keychain Access… every related cert is valid. She does NOT have the "certificate cancer" issue that was commonly associated with Entourage, unless it's manifesting itself in a way where the cert
is correctly chained to DoD Root CA 2 but Outlook is trying to chain it to a fake/hidden/cached copy. I'd asked previously about where Outlook caches certificates, as I've run into situations before where it clearly is not correctly reading certificates from
the user's keychains, but nobody has ever been able to answer that.
In the Accounts dilaog box of Outlook 2011, the left-hand pane lists the accounts. To the left of each account is a colored ball, sometimes green, sometimes yellow, and perhaps other colors as well. What do the colors mean?
Note. Like so many others, Outlook frequently asks me for my account passwords, and once a week or so it erases a few of them (as seen in the Accounts dialog box). I have tried all the suggestions I found on the web including deleting and recreating accounts,
cleaning up Keychain Access, rebuilding the database and/orcreating a new user, etc. I have friends with the same problems so I suspect the fault is with Outlook and not with my particular setup. The reason for asking about the colored balls is that after
the most recent request by Outlook for my account passwords, I noticed that all the balls were colored yellow and that they changed to green after I selected each account (though I made no changes). I thought that knowing the meaning of the colors might suggest
an approach for a work-around to this problem until such time as Microsoft publishes an update.
I recently installed Mac OS X 10.9 (alias Mavericks) and noticed that encryption of outgoing emails is broken.
I can sign emails and I can decrypt emails I received- but the necessary certificates for encryption are not available. It seems the certificates of signed emails I receive are not added to the keychain and therefor not available for encryption. So far
I have not found a way to manually add certificates to the keychain. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Is there a workaround or a fix to this issue?
I use a MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.4 and Outlook for Mac 2011 v. 14.3.5. I have purchased ECA Certificates and imported into KeyChain Access; however, when I attempt to set up my email account to digitally sign or encrypt, the certificates don't show
up. is there anyway to resolve this?
