The SMTP server keeps giving me this error when trying to send e-mail from my college's Outlook.com account :

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was XXXXXXXXXXXX@falconmail.daytonastate.edu'.

Subject 'test'
Server Error: 530
Server Response: 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated
Server: 'pod51009.outlook.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC78
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587

I looked up the proper settings directly from the outlook.com application and I have entered these manually in setting up the account in Live Mail

SMTP setting

Server name: pod51009.outlook.com
Port: 587
Encryption method: TLS

except for the encryption method which I cannot find where to enter this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I downloaded Windows Live Mail. Just read some notices re download errors. I received an error during download but continued. Live Mail is OK, I guess, but 1) I am not sure if everything downloaded 2) I have had problems with the properties setup - now resolved with providers help. Because of the download error messages (unknown) will I loose my current info if I download Windows Live again?
The default font on my live mail has suddenly changed to 8point characters even though the font is displayed as 12 point.  The only way I can get the desired 12 point is to create my own Stationery option.  This is cumbersome and I would like to know how to restore to a 12 point default.
I get a regular email from my son's school every week. When I try to open it in Live Mail, I get a message that the email has caused Live Mail to shut down. It does not give me any reason why. I have my email account with AT&T. I can open this email fine through AT&T.

In Windows Live Mail, I had several folders the names of which were displayed in a list at the bottom of the left hand side of the screen.  They were for emails concerning such as Electricity, Insurances, Mail Order, etc.  that I needed to keep.  They have now all disappeared.  Can anyone please help me recover them?
