I've set up a couple of email accounts with the MAC Mail App and whilst i seem to receive emails ok, for some reason i am unable to send any.

The problems seems to be with the connection to the SMTP server??

I've checked the settings for 'Apps that support POP3 and SMTP' and these are the same as my Mail App but for some reason i still can't send any emails…..

Am i missing something?

I have setup my outlook.com email in the Mac Mail App as per the instructions here:

Everything works perfect apart from when I delete an email in the Mac Mail App it does not delete from the web interface. But if I delete an email from the web interface it deletes from the Mac Mail App fine.

After looking around online it seems this is a known problem, my questions are:

  • Is a fix for this being worked on? If so do you have a timescale for this?
  • Do you have a temporary fix for this?
Any help with this would be great, I love the service but this is a major problem!
