Constant Scanning Files & 100% CPU usage – Mac SkyDrive

Ever since the last update (Version 17.0 (17.0.2012.0705) ) both my Mac's have not sync'ed fully and SkyDrive just shows 'Scanning Files' at the same time CPU usage is 100. As a result of the CPU usage I'm having to quit SkyDrive due to the impact it's having on battery life.

I have quit Skydrive and deleted the application, rebooted and then reinstalled and liked my my account this does not improve the situation.

Mac SkyDrive crashes on startup

After updating to the latest version about a week ago Mac SkyDrive always crashes on startup.  It shows "Loading..." but disappears before completing.  I have no chance to log out or change accounts before it fails.  There's no error message in the UI.  I've tried reinstalling twice and it hasn't helped.
The error log just gets a single entry saying "No node found named PassportMemberName, no user name available".
