I have been running Entourage 10.0.0 (which I think dates from 2001) on a Mac Powerbook G4 with Motorola PC processor running OS 10.5.8.
I am about to buy a new Mac Book Pro with Intel processor.
I understand Entourage will not run on the new Mac beacuse of different processor architecture and I will have to buy the latest (2011?) Microsoft Office for Mac - with Outlook for Mac as its e-mail programme instead of Entourage. All online info I have found on transferring e-mails and contacts from Entourage to Outlook for Mac deals with later versions of Entourage (2004 and 2008).
Can I transfer from my older Entourage 10.0.0 to 2011 Outlook for Mac? If so, how?
Grateful for advice!
Incidentally, I have been told that documents created in my old Word programme (2001 version) can be opened and changed by the 2011 Word for Mac programme (in spite of the processor change from motorola to intel). Is this correct?

Ok, so, I'm loving my new mac, but am frustrated with the limited capabilities of Microsoft Office.
I need the ability to edit multiple contacts in outlook. Since I can't export just a group of contacts (not smart, if you ask me!), I need to be able to add a defining column to the contacts so that when I export my contacts to use, I can grab just the
two groups that I need. I have catagorized all the contacts, but in the export process, the category isn't included. How can I edit multiple contacts?
For Example:
I have 672 contacts in a group that we'll call "Clients". I have 6 other email groups in outlook. I have catagorized all of the "Clients" emails to be the color orange. I now need to add a column, say "Nickname" and have all 672 contacts updated with a
"Nickname" of clients so that when I export to an excel file, I can sort by "Nickname" and grab just my "Client" emails to use in an email campaign through vertical response.
I know this was possible with the windows version, because I did it. Also, the windows version allows for exporting of just certain folders within the contacts.
Microsoft, PLEASE add this feature into outlook! We have got to be able to manage our contacts better!
Frustrated,
Lisa
Can I remove the Outlook application on my Office for Mac Home and Student edition without affecting Word, Excel, and PowerPoint?
iam using office mac 2011.When i try to share a calendar permissions is greyed out what is the problem. Using Macbook with os 10.6.8 and connecting to exchange server.
Hello there,
I had to replace the HDD of my Mac and unfortunately I could not use the Migration Assistant to restore all the files/applications.
So now I am in the condition of having to do a manual restore from the Time Machine backup of the emails that were moved from the Inbox to the Mac.
The question is: where Outlook 2011 stores those files on the Mac?
Thanks in advance.
Andrea
I have created a rule in Outlook for mac 2011 to forward the email to another email account. It sends the multiple copies of the same email and I can see it in sent items
OS is 10.7.5 with all updates. Office 2011 with all updates up to 14.2.4
My work email is configured on Windows Outlook using cached Exchange mode (which I gather is the default for Mac Outlook, and cannot be disabled) I also have to set, under the "Connection" tab, "Connect to Microsoft Exchange uisng HTTP" and "Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange". I cannot find the equivalent of that in Mac Outlook. Further, I get zero feedback from Mac Outlook... no errors, no indication that it's even trying to do anything. I got the Progress and Errors windows open, and no matter how I try to configure my account, I don't get any information at all.
What do I need to do to get some kind of response from Outlook to start to figure out how to get my mail working?
