Outlook (mac 2011) shows 1 unread email in Inbox and in Deleted Items. Deleted Items is empty while I've marked all items read in Inbox (several times) and deleted and downloaded all items from server.
Hi,
I understand that Outlook is included in Office 2011 for mac Home and Business
Can we purchase Ofiice 2011 for MAc: Outlook Feature only?
If not, can we install just the Outlook feature Office 2011 for mac Home and Business? excluding excel, ppt and word?

thanks
Hello-

I work at a technical university and I have one mac user who's shared calendar's will not sync. They go to the gray disconnected state and will not longer sync. This happened about a week and a half ago, so I create a new identity and painstakingly moved 20GB of archived mail into mbox format and reimported them into her new identity.

This held for a week, and now they are disconnected again. Since I cannot delete an re-add the calendars, only remove them from view. How do you propose a force a sync? It took me over 6 hours to everything back up for her and even longer for her to finish re-importing her mail.

What other suggestions can I try since she just called and said the calendars were again disconnected again? Creating a new identity for her is not an option?

Honestly the archived mail is really the issue, our university recently enabled the server side archiving, and OUtlook for Mac would show those folders, then I wouldn't worry about resetting her identity every time she had a problem. However since I can only make a back up of EVERYTHING on the server, not just the folders I choose, so I have to export the folders by drag and drop (since if you export a folder of mail folders, it doesn't export it).

I am open to all suggestions.

Outlook for Mac 2011- got it the first week it came out and had no problem for a year and a half- until I loaded Lion- for past several months since, it is virtually useless- have rebuilt database but in both databases, it will open and within minutes gets hung and stops responding- need my contacts! but no longer have CD or product key to re-install- any ideas before I simply delete and use gmail? (which I loathe)
I have an MSN email address. I have been using it for years on my Mac. yesterday something happened and now the msn email has lost the formatting, I can't open anything, I see a very basic screen showing who the messages are form in my Inbox but I can't open or access my account or even Sign Out. Please help.
I cant open my inbox in my hotmail, nor other messages. I have a Mac.  When I tried reading them in other computer, I can open and read them.  I already tried reseting Safari.  This problem has been for several days.  Please help me.

1) Problem: I confess to having blithely moved my "Microsoft User Data" files out of Documents to a place more friendly to the average uninformed user (the Applications folder as, at the time, it seemed like "program stuff", not "my stuff".  I lament my hastiness, repent, and plead your help).
  • Looks like my Outlook data files are intact but the rebuilds, the common ways, are not working (Including the move of the database file to the desktop before trying the rebuild, per Diane of Oregon).  Either way I do it, rebuild runs very fast (a few seconds, on a '08 MacBook Pro), and then tells me that rebuild was successful.  But when I reopen Outlook, it's still the generic "fresh start" identity, not Main or mine.
  • I am a simple non-Exchange/non-IMAP, POP3 email, "isolated user".  I'm running "Office:Mac 2011 Academic".
3)  Question: Before I try this riskier way: http://www.officeformachelp.com/outlook/troubleshoot/#duplicate, which is a little unclear as it is, and given my basically simple-cause scenario, what else could I try first?

True appreciation,  Alex in Vermont
