I have an exchange account set up in Outlook 2011 on a Macintosh running Mavericks. I archived some past mail messages in folders stored in the "on my computer" folder to get them off the exchange server. I had to restore my mail file from a Time Machine
back up and the "on my computer" folders are gone. (yes, I have them as visible in the preferences) My question is, where do those physical folders reside? They are clearly not in the mail database for my identity as they would have been restored with everything
else. Stumped?!?!?

I am running Outlook 2011, and recently when I go to sync my mail, it pulls in ALL messages every time. How do I reset it to only sync new messages? It even pulled in deleted messages. Thanks!

Outlook.com provides for on line storage only. Is there a way of storing mail messages on my PC, to be accessed even when there is no internet available, like travelling . Previously using outlook express, where all messages were stored on my PC and could
view them even when there was no internet available.. Miss this feature.
When I'm in contacts, I only see contacts. When I'm in mail messages, I only see the messages - no toolbars. I cannot find anything in view to make the appropriate changes.

Hi everyone,
I do work with Outlook 2011 for Mac.
I have to migrate 2 gb of messages from an IMAP account over to an Exchange account.
I've tried transferring a big bunch of emails at the same time and i see something gets stuck in the process, and I'm not quite sure what the best way could be.
Can you advise the best way to do that?
Thanks

I have always had a high filter on junk mail so nothing gets into my in box unless I choose. However, over the last week a large number of "junk" mail messages have gone directly into my "In Box". Why has this just started to happen and what can I do
about it please?

outlook opens but mails do not show up anymore. On the harddrive i can still find them in
/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities/Main Identity/Data Records/Messages/0T/0B/0M/ and then there are folder 0K up to 7K which contain mail messages. However, these messages do not show up in outlook anymore.
I have tried rebuilding the database, where after step 4 of 5 'Recovering data...'
I get the error "Your database could not be rebuilt. [-18000]"
the mails were from a pop account, not imap or exchange.
Any help is welcome!
Thank you.

Switched from Vista to new computer running Windows 8. Reloaded MSN Premium e mail. If I receive an e mail with either a photograph as an attachment or a video WMV file and try to "open" it I get an error message from MSN Mail "The command failed to
execute." Strange though if I forward the e mail messages to my gmail account it will open either without any problems. HELP....

Hi All..
I just purchased a new Mac Min and sold my previous Mini. I was running Office 2011 on the old Mini and using Outlook as my mail. Before I deleted everything and put a fresh OS on the old Mini I backed up all my files.
I now have Office 2011 on my new Mac, how to I restore all my mail/mail folders/contacts from the previous install?
I know that their is a folder "Microsoft User Data" in my users/documents folder and that somewhere in there is all my mail messages. I tried just replacing the complete folder with the old after backing up the current and I get a message from Outlook that I can't use this Profile with this version. I'm running the same up to date version.
Regards...

I have an Exchange user who cannot view messages in a particular mailbox folder in the "On My Computer" bucket. The messages can still be found on her computer using Spotlight; however, they are not viewable from within the Outlook application. I have
rebuilt her Outlook database with no luck. I have checked for peculiar rules and don't see any listed.
This problem occurred after a migration from a G5 to an iMac using Migration Assistant. The problem was recently reported, but the migration occurred about a month ago. I'm thinking that migration could have spawned an issue with DB integrity. The good
news is that I might still have access to her old G5. If I were to export an OLM from her old computer and import it into Outlook on her iMac, do you think it would resolve the issue? Any other ideas besides trashing preferences?
