I use Xtra.Co.NZ as my internet provider and they use Yahoo mail for their mail service.

Since they upgraded their systems and now use SSL protocol, I am receiving the following error message:

[SYS/TEMP] problem retrieving message

Account name:  "is my user account name"

Error code: -16999

I am on an iMAC 2010 Intel Core i5 running OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks).  My email client is Outlook for Mac 2011 which is current.

The service provided can't tell me what the problem is or fix it, nor can they reproduce it in their lab.

Apple tech support tells me to call Microsoft.

I either can't get through to them or get disconnected.

Can anyone help me resolve this?

I have only one account also.  I am in Spain and my mail service is telefonica.net.  I receive at least 2 copies of each mail, sometimes 3 in a number of folders that I have.  It is very frustrating as this has happened to me at least 4 times in the past year!!!  Please tell me how to stop it!!!

I have problem in our mail service it is when i send any email from any account in our domain to any person .
my email address appear like that

and this is for all accounts on this domain
but i find the reason 

in domain setting in domains.live.com
I found under domain setting our service is active and under Edit mail setting 

You can enable mail service for your domain. Please select the mail provider from the choices below. 
No mail 
Outlook.com 

and No mail is selected and i test that when i change to Outlook.com choice the problem is resolver but i found this important notification 

This will permanently delete the existing mailboxes of all users in your domain. All users will be able to continue to use their Microsoft accounts, but will permanently lose their communications data (mail, offline messages).

but i test this on domain have not any important inbox and no thing happen i mean all inbox's is still as it is.

I need assistant if this notification can be happen or not i test that but i need confirmation about that.

Hello, I'm trying to register mail service for my domain at domains.live.com, but it says "This domain name can't be used because it contains a protected word or inappropriate language. Please contact support if you feel this is not the case." How do I fix it?
THIS IS SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A MONTH THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO LOGGING MY OUTLOOK MAIL ID, WHICH FORTUNATE I RECENTLY STARTED LIKING IT.
MY PASSWORD WAS NOT CHANGED NEITHER COMPROMSED NOR FORGOTTEN, AS I AM ADMINISTRATOR. IT WAS IN CAPS ON.  
DOES UPPER CASE PASSWORD CAUSE A PROBLEM IN MICROSOFT MAIL SERVICE? THOUGH IT DOESN'T WITH GMAIL/YAHOO.

SECONDLY WHY I AM NOT ALLOWED TO USE MY FAVOURITE PASSWORD WHEN I RESET IT AGAIN USING EITHER SMALL CASE OR UPPER ONE.
THIS IS STUPIDITY AS NO OTHER MAIL PROVIDER DOES SO I.E. GMAIL/YAHOO. 
WHY DON'T YOU GOOD THINGS FROM YOUR COMPETITOR AND IMPROVE YOUR MAIL SERVICE.
I WANT TO RE USE MY OLD PASSWORD OR I'LL CLOSE ALL THE MICROSOFT ACCOUNTS WHICH I HAVE STARTED LIKING/USING IT RECENTLY.

Thanks for resolving the "inappropriate language or Word" issue with my domain.

But now I've registered my domain pgfnigeria.org on Windows Live Admin Center and I keep getting the message "It may take a few minutes to complete the changes to your service. Please check back later." after updating the DNS and MX Records on my Server. It's been almost more than 24 hour now and after hitting the refresh button several times, I still get the same message. Please what is going on with your system? How long would I be made to wait for this issue to be resolved?

Please help me resolve this issue asap because it is really frustrating having to use more than a week to setup a mail service on live.com. 

I also suggest Microsoft makes this process of this service faster to setup.

We are a website design & hosting company, we are using mail service as outlook.com. We are providing mail by domains.live.com.

When we create mail by adding domain after by changing the MX Record, TXT Record & CNAME why still there is restriction to send mail to the verified domain email id's. This is really a frustrating for our clients.

For example we have added a domain littlescholarsedu.com and created email id *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (this is only a week old) and we have created other 20 email id's. When ganesh (uses samsung tablet) try to send email to other email id's of this same domain this account get blocked and asking him to verify each and everytime he send mail. This id also verified by SMS but still the same problem . Our client reported this issue and wants to cancel our service and looking to move to other service provider. So please do something to solve this issue.

And as per the terms a account should be 30 days old but this is ok for individual users in order to avoid spam & junk but as a domain verified email id should not have this restriction. (its my suggestion)

I am a great fan of microsoft and totally against all google services and using hotmail account more than 10 years and when we faces this type of issue its really frustrating. Please do some thing to clear this problem.

I'm using domains.live.com for quite some time with my custom domain. As I used to be a Gmail user (via Google Apps), I had the "enable e-mail" settings disabled.

 

About 2 years ago, as a user, I clicked in my "Live Account" that I want to use Hotmail. It created my inbox etc. and I occasionally used it. Since Outlook.com was released, I switched to it from Gmail.

 

Since my custom domain was also used by my dad on Gmail, I had my mail forwarded from Gmail to Outlook.com so I don't have to bother my dad with switching until the Outlook.com gains features my father requires.

 

Recently, I switched my father to Outlook.com too. Now all e-mail is received by Gmail with my custom domain address and sent to our Outlook.com mailboxes.

 

I would like to change the settings so the MX entries in my custom domain points to Outlook.com directly and the Gmail/Google doesn't stick it's nose to my mail.

 

So I went to domains.live.com to get the proper MX settings for my Outlook.com and found some issues:

 

1) domains.live.com says that I have no mail service enabled (which is not true, since I'm using it daily)

2) It says, if I enable it, all mailboxes of all accounts will be deleted including content (that, obviously, I don't want)

3) Because it thinks I have "no mail service enabled". it will not show me proper MX records for my custom domain

4) If I enter <my-token-number>.mail.outlook.com as the MX record, all mail sent to my custom domain gets refused with "550 5.4.1 Relay Access Denied" error.

 

Can please someone from MS look at my domains.live.com settings and fix it without deleting any content so I can send and receive to and from Outlook.com with custom domain directly without the need to go throw Google?

like to know what email service works on my windows home premium pc. I always had windows live and it worked fine. now the program stopped sending mail? what happened to my security settings? they were changed over night. I don't know how to fix the settings? what do I use for a mail service now?
