Windows Photo Gallery doesn’t write XMP metadata to jpeg

Hello,

I'm using Windows Photo Gallery 2012 on Win7x64 Professional and it seems that when I face tag someone with the sfotware the data isn't being written as metadata to the file.

I've checked this with EXIFtoolGUI and nothing shows up in the XMP field or the IPTC or any other field.

I also copied  2 photos after tagging them, to another directory, and the person info doesn't show up. I don't know if this is normal behaviour for copying files because when I moved them the tag data was retained.

Is there a fix to this ? I've also tried deleting the database file but to no avail.
