Microsoft tech team used up all of my new laptop allowance to setup my email a/c with outlook. Only for it to never to again work after this. Today I decided to enter the world of outlook express after a long spell as I tried to sync my calendar but it doesn't even know who I am now. I am fed up with not having an email facility, calendar and the things available in microsoft outlook. Even if someone helped me set it up (once more), it would only forget me next week and emails would not be synced with yahoo again. How do Microsoft get away with this stuff? I feel angry because I feel so powerless. I am not a PC expert and have taught myself everything but cannot get past some aspects which appear too difficult and are without reason. If the work I did went wrong consistently - I would be held accountable and probably dismissed immediately. Effectively, I paid money and did not receive a service. Now I have no form of live support without paying money.
I get so confused I dare not start to think of using skydrive or the suchlike. There is so much on my new laptop (which apparently is top spec) that is available, but I simply do not use it. I have spent 2 hours trying to get some sort of sense from syncing my outlook a/c to my calendar. Even changing passwords and receiving emails from microsoft - yet I am still not recognised by them? Any outlook stuff which I had in the very beginning has all gone too! To be honest, as it was too much stress, I stopped attempting to use outlook as it forgot my yahoo email immediately and I was wasting my time, syncing time after time. Life is too short to keep getting annoyed, so I refrain from having any anger about it by simply not going there. However I am trying to find some way of making my life easier re calendars. Some folk have everything to hand - but I am still writing things down on paper (and on my hand) when I potentially have the very latest technology at my fingertips
To save becoming too frustrated I am deciding to leave things alone - but how nice it would be to have my busy work schedule available on my phone and at home. I have to inform people to wait until I am at home in front of my computer diary, and I will ring them back. I am self taught and not young either, but some of this stuff is difficult when one has no one to show them how. It does not come naturally to me and it is hard, but I am nothing if not persistent if it is not presumed that I understand all of the IT linguistics. Has anybody any ideas? if I haven't bored you to death already?

My existing notebook has Windows Live mail and I have just purchased a new notebook and would like to transfer all my existing emails from Windows Live on my old notebook to Microsoft Outlook 2013 on my new notebook.  The only export options available in Windows Live are Microsoft Exchange or Windows Live Mail (.eml).  I can export the emails out to a folder and transfer the emails to a folder on the new notebook, but Microsoft Outlook does not recognize them and I cannot import them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I posted the following question to the community last week:

I had both Hotmail.com and Outlook.com loaded on Microsoft Outlook 2010 using the Microsoft Outlook Connector.

Today, I decided to move my e-mails from Hotmail to Outlook.com - it seems to work as I started seeing these e-mails on Outlook.com. Soon I realized that the "sync" process was over but only a tiny fraction of the e-mails had been transferred. The rest of the e-mails have disappeared from Hotmail.com and are also not on Outlook.com.

I had simply dragged the folder (Inbox, or "Personal" or "Family") from Hotmail to Outlook.com.

I really want to retrieve my e-mails - accumulated over many years.

I never deleted any of the e-mails and am at a loss. The "Recover Deleted Items" button in the Outlook bar is greyed out.

Later, I did receive a Synchronization Report and the many errors that led to the aborted transfer - it self deleted in a few minutes :-(.

Please help!

Thank you.

------------------------------

This issue was escalated and resulted in a standard and irrelevant "your account may have been hacked..." "your account was not used in the last 365 days...". No one actually seemed to have looked at the problem.

This is not right - a few Gigabytes of e-mail disappearing with a simple folder drag should be traceable. I did not delete any files whatsoever. A partial transfer indicates that something may have gone wrong at the server level. I want Outlook Support to track these e-mails.

[Question moved to Outlook forum from Excel forum by moderator]

Jim,
I see this is the final post to & from Bruce so I don't know if you helped him or if he got so frustrated that he gave up! I was  hoping to find out before attempting to repair my Office installation because it sounds like I am having the very same, or similar problem, only with Outlook instead of Excel. I have been using Office for months, close to 6 months, without problems other than the occasional "busy Server" but now it crashes after about 10 seconds. The only difference was that I had added Outlook.com as an email account (i was using it at work) but shortly after I removed it & went back to my Gmail).

The begining of my error report is:

There is a lot more - it goes on for 30 "threads". I have noticed some reference to CFRunLoop NLCreateConnectionHTTP, CPopConnection, NLDisposableaddress, CImapConnection, CImapSyncMapEntry, etc. I can copy the entire report if needed.

I have tried moving my Identities to my desktop without success but that is it. Could this be a simple issue with my email addresses? Do you think uninstalling, then reinstalling & adding the email accounts from scratch would eliminate the problem? If so, I suppose I would need to uninstall All of Office, not just Outlook, correct? I appreciate any guidance you can provide!!

I am running Windows 8 with Microsoft Outlook 2013, and have installed all of the latest updates for both.

My Outlook 2013 is connected to my Outlook.com account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) using Exchange ActiveSync.

The synchronization between Outlook 2013 and Outlook.com is utterly broken for me, and I can't figure out why.  Is it just my account, or are other people having this same issue?

If I read a message using Outlook.com first (and mark it as "read"), then when I go to Outlook 2013, the message does not come down.  All my unread messages do come down, but not my read messages.  Then, if I go back to Outlook.com and manually mark all my messages as unread, then go back to Outlook 2013, it pulls down duplicates of all my messages!!  What is going on?

*** Email address is removed for privacy ***

I'm using Outlook 2010, The problems happened when our office switched to Microsoft 365 Outlook.

I keep an incredible amount of information in the Notes of my contacts. To keep it readable, I use a lot of formatting with color, fonts, indents, underlining etc. I also used the 'All Fields' section with User Defined Fields. None of that transferred over with the change. Fortunately, I have a copy of that Contact Database. I tried recopying it into my current one. But they change back-possibly after rebooting. I can't keep looking back at the old Outlook file and trying to keep it up to date as well as my current one. It's just not working.

I am extremely frustrated that all of my efforts have been for not and my long string of notes is just that - a non-stop run of mish-mash with no paragraph returns or anything. I have reformatted some of the contacts numerous times only to have them return to Arial 12 in all black and run together. This causes a lot of aggravation with my job because I constantly need to access this information.

Do I need to hunt for another software program that is recommended for contacts on the PC, or is there a fix for this?
Hi,
I do not have microsoft outlook( if I had I know that I could go to contacts and fix the problem)

My microsoft outlook worked earlier today but now will not open up and when I run a troubleshooter it states it is an incompatible application.
