When others in my company and those out side my company paste an image into a email body. And I open the email on my Macbook, with Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011, version 14.2.5. The images in the body of the email will not appear in the body. Instead I get a box with a question mark in it. Or I will see there is a unnamed bitmap as an attachment. For instance if the image was a screen shot someone was sending, it will so there is a attached bitmap, but will not render the image in the body of the email it was embedded in.

What can I do to make these images show up and render in the body of the email as intended?
I need an easy way to remove zillions of duplicate emails that for some reason ended up in my inbox.

either a way to sort all the "duplication" so I can erase them all at once without browsing one by one or a FREE add-on that I can download for Mac would be great. Everything I found so far is for Windows based Oultook.

thanks a lot!!!

I have been using Mac Outlook 2011 for about 6 months now without problem. I have OSX 10.8 and am connecting to an Exchange Server that is here at our office network (not outsourced).

This morning I received a couple of emails just fine. Then a little later I got the dreaded error saying that mail could not be retrieved because of a logon failure and that the user name or password was bad.

I used my browser to log into the webmail for the exchange server and logged in just fine, so I know my username and password have not been changed by anyone else.

I then searched the internet and found several things to try like deleting the account and recreating, deleting the Keychain Access entry and letting outlook recreate, etc.

I tried everything without success.

Other people are using Windows outlook just fine with the exchange server from the same network.

Finally I called Microsoft Outlook for Mac support and talked to a tech. He connected to my computer and all he did was take the domain off of the username and suddenly it started working. Well, I had already tried that many times, but hey it was working so I was good.

About 5 minutes later it quit working again without any changes. The domain was still just the way the Microsoft tech had set it, so I have to assume it was either a coincidence that it started working for a little bit just when he changed that or him changing that triggered a temporary fix of some other kind. I have tried putting the domain part back in and back out and still not working.

At this point I can't figure out anything that will make it work.

Please help....

Original Title: "I am unable to open Outlook."

I receive the following error:

Microsoft Outlook cannot be opened because of a problem.

Check with the developer to make sure Microsoft Outlook works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X.

Word, Excel, & PowerPoint are working fine.

I have looked for updates to Lion as well as updates for Office and am told that there are none available.

I am running OS X 10.7.5 and the latest edition of Microsoft Office 11.

I currently sync my office 365-OWA to my microsoft outlook 2011 (mac).  I have also synced an organizing program called curio to my outlook 2011 through iCal.

A problem came up in that any think that was an all day event or event a present holiday, like new years day would duplicate every time it synced in an exponential manner.

In order to work around this, I deleted all of my all day events from all calendars up until 2014 and this work.  However, every time it I open and sync accounts, it is exponenentially duplicating previous and future events beyond 2014.

Is there any way to stop this?  Either by limiting the dates of syncing calendars or just limit the time period of the calendar?  (I do not need to currently keep a calendar after 2014 and it would be great to archive my old calendar, instead of having it continuously resync and eventually crash my computer.)

Doing this either through OWA or outlook 2011 is fine...I just need it to stop.

Thanks,

Howard
