I want to close my account but I keep getting the following message…..

Hi,

I am looking to close my Microsoft account but it keeps giving me the following message:

You need to cancel any paid services or Microsoft Points account associated with your Microsoft account.

Please can someone help me. I can't see any active subscriptions or anything to be honest and need to close this account.

I used to have Xbox live but that was cancelled a while ago now so can't see why it won't let me close!

I want to close my outlook account cause I do not use this anymore. I am currently having an issue with this because it keeps telling me that I need to cancel all my subscriptions and Microsoft points to close my account. I don't have any subscriptions or points at all so I don't see what the problem is. How can I close my account and get this stuff over with already?

I am trying to cancel my microsoft outlook hotmail account. I am unable to do so due to having microsoft points available. I only have 3 points and I am unable to delete them. Anyone able to help me?

I am trying to delete my microsoft account but I keep getting the message: "You need to cancel any paid services or Microsoft Points account associated with your Microsoft account."

When I click on the "cancel" link, I go the subscriptions page and it's an "OWL Subscription (current)" however I haven't used this for years and it is free of charge but an unlimited subscription (i.e. appears to expire on the year 9999).

I tried talking to the relevant department on the phone and they are unable to delete this subscription, it isn't charged to any credit card or anything as it was originally from an app on my old phone from back in 2009.

Please help.

I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN TO DELETE MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT AND ALL OTHER SERVICES THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THIS ACCOUNT AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING FOR THIS. Getting this when trying to close account (which I just created a few hours ago). You need to cancel any paid services or Microsoft Points account associated with your Microsoft account. Trying to close it because it somehow created a dummy Xbox Live account, which I cant remove/delete. There are no paid services, no Microsoft points, nothing is associated. Whenever I try to close my account it tells me "You need to cancel any paid services or Microsoft Points account associated with your Microsoft account."

I don't have any subscriptions but I do have a few points left on the account, but no matter where I look I can't find a way to cancel the points! Does anyone know the solution?
