Hi Husam,

Let me help you rectify the issue about not being able to view that attachment.

Please be informed that if an attachment contains a virus, the user cannot attach and/or open the infected file until the virus is removed. It is also possible that the Hotmail/Outlook.com servers are experiencing issues which cause the virus scan to produce a false positive result.

Meanwhile, there are some instances that your browser's cache and temporary internet files are causing the issue. To make sure that this is not browser-related, please optimize your browser. Click here for the steps on how to do so. If you are currently using Microsoft Internet Explorer 10, you can refer to the instructions on the link provided below on how to clear cache or delete browsing history and/or reset Internet Explorer settings to its default:

Reset Internet Explorer settings
You can also try the troubleshooting steps on the article below:
Is Internet Explorer slow? 5 things to try

If the issue still persists, I would like to ask a few questions for isolation. Please provide the answers to the following on your next post:

> Does the same issue happen if you access the attachment using other browsers?   YES
> Do you encounter the issue on a specific file type? If so, please provide its type.      No
> Does the same issue occur when you use another computer when downloading the attachment?
from other computer can't open the attachment.
We will wait for your reply.

Thank you.

I started receiving bounceback emails saying various other email accounts (from sites ive never heard of) were contacting my address book but with my email address. I am assuming my email has been spoofed only because there is nothing in my outbox or deleted, but I'm not entirely sure. Ive attempted changing my security information, contacting literally every department of microsoft support but all they do is redirect me somewhere else and thats if Im lucky enough to even get a reply. I'm at the point of just deleted my account so this is my last attempt for any solution anyone may have. an example of one of the emails I receieved was :

Cannot disable or uninstall Skydrive on Windows 8.1 business machines.

Don't WANT Skydrive on business machine.

Don't WANT personal files on business machine.

Microsoft has taken that choice away from me.

Microsoft has taken that choice away from businesses?

Need to disable Skydrive on Windows 8.1 or will disable Microsoft from our organization.

Nearly every single email that goes to my Junk box (some are previously marked as safe too) disappears whether I select not junk or
mark as safe or even if I just try to send it to my inbox it just completely disappears. Have searched through every folder and cannot
find any of them. I even try to just put their contact/email address straight into my contacts list but the email still disappears. My account was
automatically changed to outlook this year and I have just kept all the default settings, nothing has been altered. Please help!! I tried to
go to Microsoft's Australian support page, selected live chat but it says it's unavailable so tried the contact us button to find an email
address or something to ask them but says it's unavailable too and to try community support or find an answer myself. Very frustrating!!
Any suggestions?
It also drives me mad when I use the side bar to scroll down an email, if I slightly slip to the right and it briefly hovers on the Microsoft adds
it immediately brings their page up, happens all the time. I don't like to just use the arrow to scroll as it's too slow when you just want to
quickly scroll down a long email. Wish they'd get rid of the ads or have a tiny bit of space beside the bar to allow for slight movement.

I have had MS email accounts since the late 90's and Hotmail.  Years ago internet providers assigned email accounts to people with their monthly contracts for free.  Bell Canada accounts were all ###@sympatico.ca .  A few years later, Bell switched to have Microsoft provide the email services first through the Hotmail services and now through the Outlook.com service but have retained the sympatico.ca email addresses.  I currently log on to Outlook.com using my ###@sympatico.ca account.

My concern is now that I have invested in a Windows Phone, a Windows Tablet and my windows 8 desktop, which all are linked to my ###@sympatico.ca account,  when I move next year ( I move often in the military) if I do not stay with Bell as my internet service provider I will loose access to all of the cloud services and email including my skydrive associated with my account.

I have created an alias account that is linked to my primary outlook.com account and have gone through the settings to swap the alias and primary accounts but the button is greyed out for my sympatico.ca account and can't be clicked.

I no longer want to be tied to Bell Canada's account through Microsoft but I want to keep all of my existing Cloud accounts and purchase history.  I have tried to do the opposite and create a new outlook.com account and add thet sympatico.ca account as a alias but outlook recognizes this as an existing outlook.com account and wants me to set it up as POP3 or IMAP forwarding instead.

I have seen this question asked in forums before but most answers fail to see that the sympatico accounts are provided by Microsoft.

Thanks for helping.

I’m a system administrator managing the email servers of our clients. I have seen too many incidents where server IP address gets blacklisted on Microsoft due to which valid and important emails get blocked whereas it is far less on other popular websites such as Gmail and Yahoo.

The incidents of MS blocking the emails which I saw during my work prevents me to use my live.com email address for my professional email because I fear if some company sends me a recruitment email if by chance it gets blocked they will never bother to send second email and I’m in a big loss.

The problem is that the email address which I have with live.com looks professional and the same is not available on others so what I should I do? Shall I risk of keeping my email address on live.com?

It beggars belief that Microsoft continues to make ever increasing mistakes in their software.  Why do we need to wait 10 minutes for Windows to load only to face ever more puzzling menus in Excel, Word etc. and to face ever more bizarre Outlook menus.  And today I see that the new format of Outlook is not (seemingly) compatible with Microsoft Word attachments.  Seriously?  The amount of R&D Microsoft spends and you end up with this?

Apple focuses its products on what the consumer needs.  Microsoft seems to aim to please IT geeks who revel in designing complex programmes.  I have just had Office 2010 installed - and immediately it crashes Word when I select a font change or crashes Excel when I do the same.  People use Apple because the want to but use Office because they have to (corporate policy).

Right, I will go for a long coffee break while I reboot Windows....
