I received an email from Microsoft Account Team with the title ' Microsoft Account Password Reset‏' , though I have not requested for the password reset at all. I am a bit suspicious about this email as the sender has a funny hotmail account. Below is the instruction followed by 2 URLs to click on either to confirm or to cancel the reset.

I did not take any action yet before I confirm that it is safe to do so.

Did you request a Password Reset? Someone requested a reset for your Windows Live ID password. Follow the instructions below to reset your password, or to cancel your password reset request or to disable your account

Just wonder if this is the legitimate email sent by the Microsoft Team and how did someone request for a reset other than myself . Any help will be appreciated.

I realized this was a problem when I went searching for an email that contained a software authorization code that I hadn't used yet from earlier this year.  When I went to look for it, I realized that all email in my inbox had been deleted up until June of this year.  I was really confused, so I seached on google and found this thread:

It was clear from this thread that the moderators didn't have any clue what happened, or how to position this to customers.  The fact of the matter is that emails in the inbox are being deleted despite the fact that no changes were made (such as sweep), no items were ever placed in the delete folder, and the inbox space hadn't been used up.  (I'm assuming an arbitrary folder message limit was implemented in the switch over to outlook.com, which seems to be when these issues started originating)

Then in subsequent threads, I notice the moderators locking every single thread bringing this topic up.

Why did this happen?!  How can I get my emails back? And if I can't, how will I be compensated for the loss of information that will now clearly cost me money in replacing that information?

Suffice to say, if this can't be rectified, I won't ever be using any Microsoft online services any longer.
When I am trying to create a new email address, Outlook is telling me email address is already taken. However, when i attempt to try and login to that email address i get the error message:
That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different email address or get a new account.

And when i try to reset the password for that email address I get the error message:
The Microsoft account is incorrect. Please try again.

Hi

I've seen that the same question has been asked and answered a lot, but the only solution I've seen seems to be when a Microsoft moderator steps in.

So like everyone else I upgraded to outlook a few months ago and have noticed now that the emails that I leave in my inbox are just automatically deleted, I've managed to save the important emails to folders, so that's fine. I check me emails via my iphone and web browser, the settings on my iphone do not have an auto delete feature; the settings in the web browser do not have a scheduled clean up for my inbox and I have the 'don't let devices or apps delete messages from outlook' feature checked.

Thanks is advance.

Hi all,

I am unable to login to Microsoft account through Google chrome but however possible through IE. Is there any problem that i cant access through Chrome or any compatibility issue with Microsoft.?
I have Microsoft 365.  For what that is worth.  I have no idea what to do with it.
Tried to send reply and print in Subject was 12 size.
Went to Body and size is so small you can hardly see it.

Unsure what to do help.
Thanks Microsoft for eliminating all my inbox emails.  When I opened the announcement about the new Outlook, everything was wiped out.  I WANT IT BACK!!!!!

I have an LG Lucid cell phone and have had Hotmail for years.  Once Outlook took over it was fine until last Thursday Oct 24 then all of a sudden my email on my phone went crazy. It would not notify me of new emails. It would not sync to my folders. I would click on sync and after hours of trying I received a message that said "UNFORTUNATELY OUTLOOK HAS STOPPED". So I uninstalled and reinstalled it about 3 or 4 times from the play store on my phone. It would work for a few hours and then stop. I would create a new email and just sits in my outbox. When it does work and I put some emails into the folders I have that doesn't sync with my computer at home. The emails I put in folders on my phone are still in my inbox on my computer. This was never the case before Thursday. Everything went really good up until then. My computer email is fine it is just my phone.

I am very frustrated because NO body can seem to help with this. I was at Verizon for 2 hours today for them to try and help and I was on the phone with their tech support and they couldn't help. Then I called Microsoft and they couldn't help, then I did a live chat on the web site from Microsoft and he couldn't help. He suggested I contact this Community Forum. I sure hope you can finally be of assistance. It is VERY important that I get my emails to my phone.

Thank you,

Roberta
