keeps saying I'm not in sync with my mobile device, but I don't have a mobile device linked with my computer.  I still can't sign in.  Why?

I can't sign in, but the error message says there are "issues" with Outlook because my mobile device is tryilng to sync with it.  Well, I don't have a mobile device trying to sync.  I just can't get into hotmail!!!
When I attempt to log into my outlook.com account, it says "You might have issues syncing emails to your mobile device." But I am not using a mobile device and I cannot see my email inbox. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your updates indicate there is only a problem accessing Outlook from mobile devices.  I am not on a mobile device and have been unable to access Outlook for the entire day.
I didn't elect to have my Outlook syn with my mobile device, but now I can't access my emails because it is saying there is a problem syncronising with my mobile device!! Frustrating
Now it is telling me "You might have issues syncing with your mobile device", but I AM NOT USING A MOBILE DEVICE"!
I never had this problem with hotmail. Perhaps I need to rethink trying to use this email account & switch to gmail or yahoo!
At first I could not log in, then after service was restored, I could not open my e-mails. Microsoft seems to think the difficulty is because I'm trying to sync with a mobile device. I am not! HELP !!
It keeps assuring me that yes, indeed, I was having issues with signing in with my mobile device earlier (true), but that it is resolved now (false) and that everything else is functioning normally (false). My PC-accessed Outlook Inbox froze up mid task. It would let me click on things, but then just keep refreshing the Inbox no matter what I clicked on. I signed out and attempted to sign back in and received this message:

Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Outlook right now
Problem    You might have issues syncing email with your mobile device. Aug 14 9:49 AM
Updates    Access to email through Outlook.com has been restored. We are currently working to resolve issues syncing email with your mobile device. Aug 14 5:37 PM

I keep getting kicked out of Outlook, telling me I am having issues syncing email with my mobile device. I do not have a mobile. All I was doing was moving mails to their corresponding folders. Can someone tell me what is going on? Thank you
