My neice has been unable to sign into her email inbox for months as each time she attempts to sign in, a notice saying 'It looks like someone else may be using your account' appears and it seems the only way forward is to provide Microsoft with her mobile phone number.
She is not willing to do so.

We would like to be given access back to her account, without providing personal telephone contact details.

P.S. She has answered security questions and when she presses 'Next' it directs straight back to the telephone number page.
She has tried to post her question onto this forum and when she presses the 'Ask a question' button, it directs back to the telephone number page.

She is not willing to just create a new account and never be able to access her unseen emails.

Assistance is required, and would be appreciated.

I want to update my security info with a current email address. When I say the old email address is not valid it asks "Since you don't have access to your current security info..." and offers a possibility to verify with a mobile phone number or an alternate email address. I'm not giving microsoft my mobile number and when I use the alternate email address (to a gmail account) it doesn't send the necessary code!

Can this issue please be solved. Thanks.
basically what has happened is i go on my account on this computer all the time. But when i logged on on an older laptop my account was locked until i could verify it was me. now here is the problem, i have 2 mobile phone numbers attached to the account, but only one of them is showing up, and the one that is showing up is a phone number i no longer have. But if i want to send a password changing code i can use the other number?!?!? anyone know how to get the verification code sent to my current mobile phone number number .  (yes i have tried doing the recovery without code and it doesn't work they deny me every time). oh yeas and i am talking about a different account. not the one im sending this on

I am having a problem with the Outlook security code.

When I signed on my Hotmail account, I got a window saying that you need a security code.

I tried to send them my mobile phone number to text me the security code, but Outlook never sent me any text message.

So I tried to my alt e-mail. I got the message with the code inside. So I tried the code, it says it's invalid. I tried this twice already, and outlook just won't take the code.

Soooo, what's going on here? Am I going to be locked out of my e-mail account?

e-mail address. The message displayed '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***' as my e-mail address. 

When I tried to type in my actual e-mail address, which is '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***', into a box 'it' would
not except it! 

Also I have tried to send my mobile phone number to Outlook.com to register it so that I can receive the security
code.

But again that has not worked, I do not have an alternative address and I want keep '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***' as
my e-mail address!!

Please help by sending me a a security code to my mobile phone number which is <removed> as I am now 'locked out'
of my account!

I use hotmail as an anonymous email to avoid getting spammed on my work/personal email.

Now, though they want me to provide mobile number for this "security" thing - and to my horror they had my mobile in the drop-down list.

I don't trust these organisations, and I am a bit worried about how they got my mobile number. No wonder I get spam texts and calls now.

I am going to migrate to mail.com.

If I set up a forwarding rule in hotmail to help me migrate to mail.com, will it eventually expire - do I need to keep coming back to hotmail to keep it alive?
Hello, I have been prompt to enter a security code within a few days or my account will be locked. While I had click on recieving the code via my mobile phone but I have no text message from Microsoft with the code.

While I had email my issue to customer support but it has been more than 24 hours and I have recieved no new information about the code (I even typed a new message in that link provided in that message confirmantion after I send it).

When will I recieved anything about the code soon? As I type this, I have 4 days left (the account will be locked at the end of the week if I don't get the code soon).

I believe my mobile phone number on my account is correct (as seen on my profile page) as the last two digits match up but the amount of * look less on that secruity info page (less then 11, the amount of digits for a mobile phone number). Is that normal?

Before you asked, I have clicked on the alternative on calling on that number instead of text but I got no call aswell.
