Who deleted my email messages I didn’t. Does MSN automatically delete them if they are old?

What happen to Hotmail.  Did somebody hack MSN again. There were some very important emails that have been deleted that I did not delete. They were there yesterday. There is also an important email from my mortgage company. Where did they all go? internet heaven? Oh, and I was unable to find them in junk, old, deleted files etc.
