I run an iMac with Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and use MS Office 2011 for Mac. I want to sync Outlook to iCal/Contacts but using the Outlook preferences Sync set up nothing happens in either iCal or Contacts. Does anyone have a solution for this? Apple have referred
me to this site.
I have tried deactivating the Sync settings in Outlook and starting again but to no avail.
Really appreciate help on this.

We have several Mac computers in our office running Mountain Lion and Outlook 2011. Outlook keeps asking for the Exchange 365 password. We've tried reinstalling Outlook and rebuilding the 365 profile and the problem keeps happening. We are about to
give up on Outlook and just use Apple Mail. Any ideas what is going on here?

macbook pro. Mountain Lion up to date, outlook 2011. everything up to date..
In my office environment, cable or wi fi, the problem does not exist. It only does this when i connect my macbook pro to a different network. ie a Telstra 4G wi fi dongle(this is how i found this issue to begin with), or my home ADSL wifi does the same.
As soon as Outlook connects, it goes into freakout mode like it is trying to download and upload all known information to man.. there are 2 other mac users in my office, all configured the same(well we think) but only my machine has this issue..Our mail servers
have quite small size limits (10 meg or something) so i dont think it is that.
I installed little snitch to find out what app was responsible and its defiantly outlook, nothing trying to send etc etc outlook looks idle, its only the little snitch meters and log that show outlook is maxing out the available bandwidth.. put 36 gig
on the 4G dongle in about 9 hours! Telstra kindly waived the $500 charge for going over the limit..on the condition if it happens again we pay.. how nice of them. I imagine Telstra and other ISP's are huge supporters of this problem.. HELP PLEASE.... ANYONE>>>
I have come across a few other threads where people have this problem, but no solution..
I updated Office for Mac 2011 with 14.3.2 and Mountain Lion with 10.8.3 today (3/20/21013). Interestingly, all data in iCalendar, which I have to maintain to sync with my iPad, was erased (Note: I do not sync using the Cloud. I use iTunes. I don't use
the Cloud). Entries which had been made in iCal but had never been entered in the Office 2011 calendar suddenly show up in the Office 2011 calendar. It is as though the entire contents of the iCal had been transferred to Office 2011 calendar and the iCal
file erased. Also, as part of the update, discrepancies between the Apple Address Book application and Office 2011 Contacts were highlighted and I was asked to choose the correct entry. Both Address books files seems to be in tact.
I've searched the internet for any explanation of what changes these two updates might have had in them but haven't come up with anything relevant to what I have experienced. I was disappointed by the changes to the OS X system (Lion) that eliminated
syncing my iPad with Outlook for Mac using iTunes. I had to transfer my address book and contacts to Apple programs to be able to sync. Now it seems that path has been eliminated for my calendar...at least unless I transfer all my calendar entries back to
iCal...which turned out to be a PITA.
Does anyone have an explanation? The best outcome would be that these new updates somehow gives me a way to sync Outlook contacts and calendar with my iPad, but I am not optimistic. If syncing is not an option, Is there a good way to download my Outlook
calendar to iCal?
I am running Mountain Lion and was prompted to download the Office 14.3.1 update. I downloaded/installed it successfully, and when I opened Outlook after the update I discovered that all emails in my Inbox and Folders that were sent or received in the
past six days are absent. I searched everywhere including the deleted folder and could not find a trace of the emails. I rebuilt the database and that did not bring back the emails. Any suggestions?
Any Search in Contacts of Outlook 2011 doesn't show any results.
I have Mountain Lion ( 10.8.2) and Outlook 14.3.0
Search in email inbox works properly.
Any suggestion?
I still tried deleting these files in your User’s Library/Preferences folder:
com.microsoft.Outlook.SyncServicesPreferences.plist
com.microsoft.SyncservicesAgent.plist
and delete also in the User's Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2011 folder OfficeSync Prefs
com.microsoft.Outlook.SyncServicesPreferences.plist
com.microsoft.SyncservicesAgent.plist
and delete also in the User's Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2011 folder OfficeSync Prefs
Nothing is changed
Thanks a lot
