I’m running an HP Windows 7 and want to know if I can delete previous versions of Security Essentials?

I am wondering if I can delete previous versions of C++ of MS Security Essentials as the latest update should cover the most recent threats? MS SQL Server 2005 compact MS SQL 2008 R2 64 bit, up to the most recent update on 12/31/13 

Do the newer programs overwrite the older versions in MS SQL Server / MSVisual C++ Redistributable x64 through x86 bit my last update was  the MS visual C++ 2010 x86 

Plus I'm trying to free up disc space and need to know what is the quickest way to create space,

I think a recent malware attack has affected my Windows Live login…

    I totally missed out on the fact that my anti-viral program had expired and 'acquired' some malware in the time it took me to install MS Security Essentials.  However, since this time, I've had a couple of events which led me to suspect that damage had already been done - not least of which is the fact that I now can't log in to my Windows Live Mail or Messenger.  I simply get a message saying I can't be signed in because the service is 'temporarily unavailable' and an error code of 80070005.
   Trying to check this out as a bit of a dummy, I just find myself going round in circles and am worried that I may delete something meaningful in my efforts to repair it.  Can anyone help please?

Why is mail being sent to all my contacts?

I use MS security essentials and have run safety scan  email is sent to every one on my contact list with and attachment in it.
