My hotmail emails were deleted once Outlook took over – what do I do?

I logged in to Outlook after about a year - the last time  I logged in, it was hotmail.  Now, there are no emails in my account.  I had a lot of important emails archived  needless to say and I need to know if it is possible to recover them now.

My hotmail emails after the 10 August 2013 have gone even though I regularly check my account. I need them back ASAP!

Previous emails including important flagged messages have disappeared.
I need them back ASAP.  Flight details, bills, etc. were all saved in my email account.  There is no reason why they should have been deleted.
Please help!
