Can I see the email address of someone on an email just by pointing at it? I used to be able to see the email address of a name in the past...

I keep getting an email stating that my account is going to be shut down if I don't send my username, password and my name. How do I find out if this is legitimate?? The alert states that it's from MSN and looks authentic, however something about this
just doesn't seem right. Any suggestions as to how I can find out if this is on the up and up??
Someone with the name Lee Tom has created a PayPal account using my email and lives in China. I was wondering if this is real, and if so what can I do about it because it is fraudulent I want to know what to do about it.

I've gotten a MSN Account alert e-mail asking for name,passwords, and DOB is this for real or phishing.
