why doesn’t IM remember my log in so I don’t have to sign in daily

Everytime  I sign into  IM   I must  resubmit my user name and  password.  How do I set it up  so  the computer remembers this information

yesterday, I received an email, asking me my name and password, and if i don't do it it my hotmail account will be deleted! Is it a message from Microsoft? I am not sure. But i don't want do loose info in my accaunt.

I have deleted a contact in ‘people’ and put in a new email address but the old email address keeps coming up in ‘To’

I cannot get rid of an old email address. I have edited and saved and the old address is still in the 'To' of a new email. I deleted the contact and put in her new address and still the old email address comes up in the 'To'. I have changed her name slightly and still the old address comes up in the 'To'. The new address is in the contact list but not in the 'To' list. Why?

I CAN'T ADD NAMES TO MY GROUPS.  I HAVE TRIED MANY TIMES

I am totally lost. I have tried what is suggested below and I cannot find my group and I wanted to start a new group. What used to be easy is so confusing and time consuming!!

I cannot find my group name in groups. I know it is still there when I put the name in the inbox when I want to send an email. I wanted to start a new group and it is so confusing now.

I notice that even though some contact fields are blank, that a contact card will still display the name of the blank field (Office, Department etc) This is a little annoying.  Is there a way to have the contact cards not display empty fields?

Messenger is spinning and is hung

Today Messenger stopped working. It hangs on start up. Right when it pops up the toast saying "You're signed into 2 places" and becomes unusable at that point.

Using Procmon I see that msnmsgr is spinning on
