Hi - I am using Microsoft Outlook for Mac Apple; I shut down my Mac because of a frozen programme and when I re-opened all my emails accounts, emails and contacts had vanished. They seem however to be somewhere as they appear in 'my all files'. When
clicking on a email file there I get the message: 'outlook cannot open the file because it is not associated with the default identity'.
I have seen the below tips on the net to resolve this problem but don't know which 'option' key I am suppose to use in point 2.

I cannot send emails to MYSELF at my own hotmail account, from my WORK account.
I am trying to send to my own hotmail.com account from my gsconsultants.net account.
I get messages like this (in my GSconsultants.net email as bounce-backs) SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

1. no norton just AVG have never had this problem until the last month or so
2. Email screen opens shows the emails as they load then one will just disappear and cannot be located
3. Have tried the various fixes but emails are gone I have set account to save all emails to server
4. POP 3 through co.net is the incomming server
5. How do I find these mails??
Attempted to send e-mail, but ATT.NET outbound refused to accept. This left it locked in the line trying to be sent, blocking all in-bound and out-bound. How do if recover or delete this e-mail to correct the mistake I made or to clear the lockup?

For the third time in a year and a half I was unable to open Outlook getting a message that my identity needed to be rebuilt.
The rebuild failed and I had to piece together various methods gleaned from these forums and elsewhere on the net to get a semblance of recovery.
My question is: What causes this Identity corruption? What can I do to avoid it?
I have seen many work arounds to fix but nothing to indicate a cause.

What is Happening:
Old Hotmail Email Address (That has been hacked) is still linked to my Xbox Live Gamertag / Profile.
The information on the old Hotmail Account has been changed. (Secret Q&A , Alternate Email) and i am unsure of what else he was capable of changing
What i have tried:
I have tried going through the Hotmail Recovery found at https://account.live.com/acsr/ but i have been rejected. It has been a while since I used that account to be honest the only important
things I used it for was my Battle.NET account and Xbox Live (Battle.NET i got switched over thanks to Blizzard Customer Support) And i failed to think of Xbox Live Account because it was already a profile on my Xbox and i have had no need to recover it.
I have supplied the credit card info that it asks for and i still get rejected?
I have tried going on my Xbox and changing the Windows Live ID from there but it asks me for a password on the previously used Windows ID. (don't have it as the hacker changed it)
What I want to Accomplish:
I am hoping to get my Xbox Live Gamertag / Profile switched over to my new Hotmail Email Address. Reasons being i want to make sure i can still have all my paid for content, and this is a First Gen Xbox 360 so it is ready to crater at any given moment.
Is there any way i can change it to a NON-HOTMAIL email address for my Xbox Live? Hotmail seems un-reliable to me and i would like to have everything on ONE email.

I have made a few purchases on this Profile.. And it has my Battlefield Multiplayer ID linked to it..
