Office for Mac 2011: Cannot see list of folders on Outlook home screen; cannot see the links to Calendar, Contacts, etc.

Running 10.7.5 up to date.  When I booted up the computer this morning, I opened Outlook as usual.  The Outlook Home Screen showed my Inbox but not the links to any other folders (e.g. Sent, Drafts or any other folders I created).  In addition, I could not see the links to other Office functions like Calendar or Contacts.
