i cant remove my stolen old phone number from security info

Hello ,

 i was in ireland and my phone got stolen and whenever i change this number in EDIT SECURITY INFO some one use this number to reset my password again and again and hack my account  , i can't wait those 30 days to get the old number  removed

Why did my old phone number receive a text about my security update?

I was asked to enter a verification code to access my email and clicked the option that said I no longer own the number which was on file for me. I entered my new number and got sent the code which let me into my email but my old phone (which my mum now uses) received a text to inform about the update.

That doesn't seem like a very good safety feature to me if the person that took your old number gets told what you used to make your account 'secure'.
