I can't open Outlook. Worked fine earlier today. Getting a message that there seems to be a problem with Outlook but when I check status, it says it is running normally.
Hi I am experiencing a similar problem (most recent Outlook with updates installed, and os is 10.8.5).
Every time I open Outlook I almost instantly have a pop up window that says:
"Microsoft Outlook must be closed because an error occurred. Any unsaved work may be lost."
I don't know the error code as one isn't displayed.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I cannot access outlook hotmail / live.
is the service down or what?
I am able to access Outlook fine but my partner gets the following message: Cannot start Microsoft.com. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The outlook data file C:\users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst was not cleanly closed by the last programme that used it. It cannot be opened until repaired.
Can anyone help?
When I open outlook I keep getting a message telling me to have a security code. Microsoft cannot send me this code because they have the wrong email address how do I get my correct email address to them
After I open Outlook I can get maybe the first and second message to open and then nothing. I click on the messages and nothing happens. I have to close down Outlook and go again and repeat this to read all my messages. This occurs on all computers I have access to.
I shared a document file from skydrive, now the person I shared with can view all of my skydrive files and open my outlook mail. How can I stop this from happening? As long as I am not signed in to outlook nothing can be accessed, but I can't stay signed
out all of the time.
When I login to Outlook.com it opens with the email view. I wish it to start with the Calendar view. Would you please tell me how I can do this?
Hope you can help.
