Suddenly out of the blue I can not send emails (can still receive)

Error message 'Mail could not be sent' (codes 17099) or 17092 spamhouse message. There was an automatic update on my system more or less @ the same time. No problem sending from my ipad (so it must be a Outlook for Mac problem)
